Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Our Rustic Alaskan Domestead is an off-grid geodesic dome made by Pacific Domes of Oregon. Find peace nestled in the woods at the top of Camelot-by-the-Sea neighborhood...a quick drive from quaint downtown Seward, Alaska. Surround yourself with wildberries, old growth forest and mountains during your stay at the Domestead!

The space
We would like to emphasize and elaborate on the word rustic. The Domestead would best fit for those who enjoy camping but would like a few more amenities. This is a dry, off-grid property with optimum solitude. Dry meaning there is no plumbing/running water though - there is fresh water retrieved from a local spring provided. Off-grid means off of the power grid. There is a small battery provided for charging of phones etc... That being said there is usually full phone service at the property :). As stated in the limitations - we recommend being physically able to walk down the short trail from the driveway, climb a ladder to the loft (bed), and utilize the small trail to the outhouse. We are confident you will enjoy unplugging and unwinding in our rustic Alaskan environment!

Guest access
The dome is all yours! Though, please do not go into our shed or on top of the platform just to the right of the dome. Thank you!

Other things to note
The heat source for the Domestead is a wood stove. We provide a small axe, ash shovel, bucket for ash, and kindling (paper, cardboard etc...). It is up to the guest to provide their own wood. Bundles can be purchased in town (Seward) for 5$ at Safeway. For a one night stay 2-4 bundles is plenty (depending on weather).

Camelot-by-the-Sea is an eclectic neighborhood up mountain at the head of Resurrection Bay. Diverse homes and lifestyles make up this partially off-grid community that we have grown to know and love throughout the years. Short hiking trail to a full view of Resurrection Bay with excellent flora and fauna adjacent to the property! No businesses in walking distance contributes to the peace of Camelot-by-the-Sea.

Hiiiii!!! My name is Sunrisa though I go by Sunny. I spend the summer season either out to sea on a research vessel or guiding sea-kayak tours in front of the epic glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park! In the winter months I hunker down in our quaint lil town of Seward. I’m happy to open my Domestead up to others and look forward to meeting all the beautiful people that will visit our town this season!

We like for the place to feel like it’s all yours, so we won’t be there when you arrive. Though, we live just down the hill from the Domestead and can be reached via phone at any point before/during your stay :)
