Steven's home was a welcome getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house is wonderfully quiet and remote. My wife and I enjoyed the wood stove immensely. We also enjoyed the beautiful deck and looking up at the stars.
No light pollution in the area makes for a wonderful stargazing experience.
The house is a very good size and was more space than the two of us needed. The kitchen was nice and simple and had the proper tools to prepare meals.
I didn't get to use the hot tub, it seemed a little labor intensive to fill it and get a fire going to heat it.
Otherwise, the property is as described. Steven's directions and instructions are all spot on.
I'd definitely stay here again.
Thank you Steven!
I took my family of 5 to the cabin in the woods and we had an awesome trip. I went skiing with my two sons at Smugglers Notch, Mad River Glen and Bolton Valley. My wife and daughter explored near by towns. The hot tub and wood burning stove were center points of the cabin! The hot tub was so cool that I want one now. The kitchen was large and fully stocked, we ate dinner at the cabin every night. The single bathroom is also large and was not an issue for my family of 5.
Tremendous cabin in a beautiful area. Exceeded expectations. Stove fired hot tub requires some TLC to get going but is worth every minute of work once it's hot. Steven is very responsive and helpful.
If planning to use the cabin for skiing at sugarbush, understand you will be climbing over a mountain to get there. 4wd!
A small group of 4 booked this for a ski trip at Jay peak. The house is exactly as listed. If you are not willing to get a little dirty or can't take a little dust then, as stated by the owner, look elsewhere. Pictures did not do the property justice, the house is much larger then it looks. The house info book was very helpful and clearly written. It explained how to operate everything safely. 4x4 or awd with good tires is very important if you are visiting this property during the winter. Trust me! The wifi worked great and the guest book was nice to flip through and sign. Overall I would recommend and would consider booking again for a future trip.
Steven was very prompt in his responses. Any questions I had were answered quickly, without leaving me hanging. All directions and house instructions were very explicit, and the house was just the right mix of rustic and modern. The Vermont house made us all feel very much at home, and all of us were very comfortable.
We went during mid-winter. Snow covered everything, and made everything beautiful. When in the house, we rarely left the company of the stove! We used the opportunity to snowshoe (Camel's Hump - 10 minutes) and ski (Sugarbush - 25 minutes).
The house was just what we wanted for a winter weekend getaway!
We had a great time at Steven's house. Everything was well explained and accurate in his original message to me. Once we got to the house, the guest information book was there to answer any other questions we had about the place. The location is secluded enough in order to not disturb or be disturbed by anyone else. The closest house being a few hundred yards down the road. The hot tub was great once it got warm. Though it did take about 7 hours to get from 40° to 80°. Once it was up to temperature, it stayed there and got even hotter. We had to get out in fact. It was still 80° over 12 hours later. So it does keep temperature very well. Despite that, we had an enjoyable time. The wood stove kept the house warm enough in the 20° temps and below we experienced the entire time there. Check out was easy. The checklist was provided had basic items like trash removal, linens removal and basic cleanup. And then call the housekeeper and leave a message to let her know we were out of the house. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a place to get away from busy city life for a while. Very quiet and quaint.
We loved our stay in this wonderful cabin. The house was a lot bigger than we've imagined and very comfortable. The kitchen was great, with everything needed. The house was very private but at the same time very close to the slopes or town. We will definitely come back. Thank you Steven!
