Vermont Cabin in The Woods

House - Entire home/apt · Huntington, VT, United States

Peaceful homey "cabin" - but large. All the modern conveniences. You won't see a soul. Wifi, hot tub, 2 decks... lots of space. Wood stove, wood floors. Washer/dryer. Big kitchen with all appliances. High thread count sheets. Relaxation.

The Space

The perfect spot to get away from it all. True peace and tranquility await. Think hot tub under the stars, hammock under the pines, not a house in sight. Add comfy linens and wifi and dream baby dream.

Woodstove. Hot Tub. Wifi. Peace.

As often as necessary. You're on your own unless you need something. Then I am on it.

Peaceful. Farmers and artists.

You need a car here.

Guest Access

Great kitchen, wifi, hot tub, Apple TV, stars, fresh air, pine scented breezes, hammock, BBQ, wood stove, 2 decks.

Interaction with Guests

Home is set up as self-servicing (with cleaner coming before and after you). You won't see a soul. Perfect for lovers of privacy, peace and quiet.

The Neighborhood

Organic, mountains, fresh air, nice people, skiing of all kinds, hiking, waterfalls...

Getting around

You need a car. In winter - 4WD or good snow tires strongly recommended.

Other Things to Note

Nice and easy space - not high end, but quality bed linens and well equipped space for relaxation. Not a condo! The opposite of a condo. Think country - which means you will probably see a spider.

  • Wonderful accommodations for my parents who were visiting for my wedding. Roads and locale are certainly not for city folk but hey this is rural VT!

  • We enjoy the place because we were near Camel's Hump mountain to do cross country sking and trekking.

The house was big enough for 5 people (2 couples and 1 single) and the kitchen fully equiped (more than mine in Montreal !)

Steven was a great guest and it was easy to communicate with him.

To buy some food and booze, it is better to go to Richmond supermarket instead of the little store call "Beaudry's" (more choice)

  • This was a nice house, but I wouldn't advertise it as an ideal girlfriends' weekend away.

The house had highs and lows. First, Steven was great and responsive, and the house was large and spacious.

The kitchen was GREAT! Fully stocked with enough utensils, pots, pans, and gizmos to make everything you'd want. No wine glasses, but there were nice martini glasses.

However, though the wood stove is lovely, it only adequately heated the living room during the winter months (some of us had grown up in houses with wood stoves, so it was being properly used). There was a space heater in two of the rooms, which were great. We think there should be a few more of those around. There was PLENTY of fresh cut wood, though the logs were HUGE and tough to light.

The furniture was plentiful, but run down. And, after removing a blanket from the couch, we found the couch was held together by duct tape, and the stuffing was coming out...EEK! The duvet cover in one of the bedrooms had dog fur on it, which could be troublesome if you're allergic.

Lastly, be warned that though there is a TV, there is no cable. There was an Apple TV and good wifi. No cell reception.

This house provided a nice getaway for us; we had a great time... it was just a different time than we had pictured.

  • We had a great time gathering the family for Christmas! The house accommodated our every need. The wood stove kept us cozy and the kitchen kept us well feed. It was relaxing - the property is accurately described on airbnb. Everything was ready when we arrived and we had everything we needed (including plenty of wood for the stove) for an enjoyable stay. Thanks especially to our host for making our dogs welcome - they enjoyed the experience too.

This was our first experience with airbnb. We found the registration and reservation process to be simple, appropriate and fast. Our host corresponded quickly so we were able to get everything set up in short order.

  • The Cabin in the Woods is gorgeous! Peaceful and remote, which is exactly what we here hoping for. I would suggest this place to anyone looking to get away from it all for a weekend.

Steven was very responsive and helpful. If you stay here, take the time to watch the house DVD, it's instructional and surprisingly mesmerizing.

  • This was the perfect getaway for our stay with another couple in an ideal location for us to visit Burlington and other parts of Vermont.. The house is completely secluded, quiet, and very comfortable. The eat-in kitchen provides a lovely eat-in space, and the wood-fired hot tub was amazing.

Steven was also very accommodating and responsive to our questions.

  • Green mountain solitude with a wonderful wood fired hot tub. Nicely equipped kitchen, wood fireplace heat can be supplemented by space heaters. Find the hammock and put it up. You are in the heart of Vermont. Steve (owner) is easy to communicate with.

  • Steven's place was wonderful, cozy, secluded and perfect for a romantic getaway or for a group of people. He was very responsive via email and text message. The cabin was clean and supplied with everything we needed to cook, make fires, etc. My boyfriend grew up in Montpelier and was thrilled with the cabin. Steven really does ensure his visitors live as "Vermonters" - it's wonderful.

  • Great cabin in a beautiful and secluded area. We were sorry to have to leave.

  • We had a great weekend at this lovely secluded spot. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone, but comfortable common spaces as well. It is convenient to Richmond, Bristol, Burlington, and Waitsfield/Warren, but remote enough that the night sky is a treat for stargazers. We also hiked nearby Camel's Hump. Steve was a pleasure to rent from and he promptly replies to my inquiries. We definitely recommend.
