The Space

Neighborhoods are awesome! And old southern porches are sweet places to sip a cold one or two.

This Bungalow was built in 1920. The year that Jazz blossomed, Art Deco peaked and so did Prohibition and "the Flapper". Good times!
The suite offers nice linens, towels and a relaxing atmosphere in a very private space located upstairs away from other rooms in a slightly large but sweet bungalow in the historic Evergreen District, five minutes from downtown and within walking distance to the Levitt Shell, Overton Park, Brooks Art Museum, the Memphis Zoo, Overton Square and the Cooper-Young area as well.

The suite has an attached private bathroom w/ shower and bathtub and also a ceiling fan directly over the bed and a desk as well. There are racks for your suitcases and a closet ready for your clothes. The bathroom has several drawers to store your toiletries in for easy access.
There is a cabinet in the bathroom with a green glass handle that has several lotions, sunscreen, shampoo, etc for you to use if needed.

There is another room downstairs listed under "Vintage Room for Solo Traveler" I only open that listing occasionally but just wanted to mention that there might be other folks staying here during your stay from time to time.

You can park in the driveway right in front of the entrance and the keychain has a push button flashlight for ease and of course the porch light would be on if you arrive in the evening.

Overton Park is a few blocks away and is a great place to walk if you want to stretch after a long drive. There is a FREE concert series coming up in mid May. This is an incredible venue and all the concerts are amazing as well. They are Thursday -Sunday. Just walk down the street! Search the Levitt Shell for information about that.

If you read reviews that mentioned breakfast it's probably because the guest paid extra or stayed for several days and I included a light one on their last day.
If you would like a full breakfast with fresh squeezed juice, fresh flowers in your room and daily baked homemade cookies. Please search the Memphis airbnb listings again under "The Dandelion" and make your reservation there.

Whatever choice you make, I'm sure you'll be happy.

If you're vegan, let me know in advance. It's nice to know for restaurant recommendations or if I need to make almond or walnut milk.

Feel free to stretch out, put your feet up, grab a book, wrap up with a throw in the living room or library. It makes me happy to see my guests feeling comfy here. That's what makes airbnb stand out from hotels right? and yes, cliche as it sounds. Mi casa es su casa!

re driving, I offer my navigation system to make it easy to get around the city. It's a pretty easy city to navigate anyway but every little bit helps.
If you're without wheels you can take "Memphis Hop". The trolley is great but it's limited to where it will take you. This service will take you to all major attractions and offers discounts as well, it's kind of a win-win. You can catch the shuttle down the street at Overton Park.

There are walkable music venues near here such as The Hi-Tone, Stonewall Hall and of course The Levitt Shell. Also there are some eateries, a great gift shop and a yoga center as well and more. Keep in mind that wed-sat offer better music choices.

As far as interaction. If you come in after a night out and I'm in the kitchen, it seems rude of me not to ask how your night went. So I usually do but I have no interest in monopolizing your time. It's not that I don't enjoy chatting with guests, I do but I feel I'm pretty good at reading people and would hope you could do the same for me as well. Yes, we hosts enjoy our guests but also are on our own programs as well at times.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Hope to see you in Memphis :)
