What more to say? Claire was welcoming, the apartment spotless and exactly as described, the provisions generous, and the location ideal. We found Claire's advice spot-on regarding eating places and villages to visit. We spent a week there, and would happily have stayed much longer. It's an outstanding apartment in a delightful town.
Claire and Gerard met us at the arranged time, were very welcoming and provided an excellent orientation to the lovely apartment and the village. The apartment was exactly as described and met our needs perfectly. The location is a 3 minute walk from the village centre. The beautiful village with the waterwheels is amazing. There is an excellent choice of restaurants and shopping.
It's location in Provence is perfect for day trips in all 4 directions. We had lunches on the Mediterranean shore in the Carmague, in the perched villages to the west and north and each evening easily returned for dinner in town. We had two special requests which Claire and Gerard readily accommodated. Our friends who stayed in Le Petit Picasso just steps from us, feel exactly the same. We would happily return and definitely recommend it as a perfect Provençal base.
Petit Cezanne is a perfect place for your visit to Provence. The apartment is EXACTLY as pictured, is very clean and is well stocked with the conveniences you need for your stay. Claire is a wonderful host, is quick to respond and includes thoughtful touches throughout the apartment: an umbrella (though we never needed it); a supply of books, brochures & guides to the regio; as well as a very good "house guide" with restaurant recommendations, grocery and other stores, all include phone numbers & locations. The parking lot was a 2 minute walk from the apartment and we never had an issue finding a spot.
There is only one drawback and it should only affect late sleepers - the apartment is near a school. So if you sleep late, or with the windows open, you'll hear the children playing before school (around 8:30 am). Just close the windows because they are new and do a good job of keeping out the noise. And it's certainly not a problem is you're up before then.
The town of L'Isle Sur Le Sorgue is quaint and charming. People are very friendly and helpful, restaurants are plentiful (and good!) and it's perfectly located to explore the Vaucluse. For a small town, the market is one of the better ones we visited. Food, linens, clothing, antiques, jewelry, etc. Definitely plan to spend the better part of Sunday exploring it.
We would stay at Petit Cezanne again and certainly recommend Claire and Gerard and their apartment for any couple looking for a home base to explore the Provence region.
Thanks for having us, Claire.
Claire and Gerard, thank you so much for the warm welcome, tour of L`Isles sur la Sorgue and the ìnsider` tips on the non-tourist restaurants and shops to try. Islo (restaurant) was lovely. My husband was able to prepare a most amazing Provencale dinner and we could not have done it without your fully equipped kitchen. The market during January was lovely - we were surprised how vibrant it was even during the winter months. I hope we`ll be back in a couple months....
First of all, Claire is a really kind, warm and helpful host. We had a great time in her fantastic room. When all the electricity was down (it happened because we used too many appliances..), she and her husband immediately came to us to solve the issues.
And of course, her room was definitely awesome. It was so cute, clean, well-equipped, modern and warm. We highly recommend this fantastic room.
We had a wonderful week in Claire and Gerrard's apartment. Everything is as shown in the pictures, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and 1 min from the centre of the village. The village is very picturesque, winding streets, old buildings and surrounded by canals with water wheels turned by the current. There are lots of restaurants with water views, antique shops and a terrific Sunday market.
Claire was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. We followed her advice for the area and had a fabulous time. We would love to go back, thank you Claire and Gerrard.
Le Petit Cezanne is the gold standard for Airbnb apartments! Claire and her husband Gérard are the kind of hosts you dream of: friendly, generous, accommodating and exceptionally helpful, and they have clearly put a lot of care into setting up the place for their guests' comfort. The apartment is impeccable: pretty, bright, attractively decorated, and well-appointed, with everything we needed for our stay and several thoughtful extras besides, such as the bottle of wine and the Provence-made tapenade that greeted us on our arrival, and the luxurious L'Occitane lotions in the bathroom. It was far and away the most elegant Airbnb I've stayed at, and yet the price was more than reasonable.
As for our hosts, we could not have asked for more. They were communicative and helpful from start to finish, providing us with clear directions to the apartment and showing up with smiles on their faces to extricate us from the snarl we got into by forgetting to follow their directions! They've stockpiled a selection of brochures and maps to help guide their guests in their explorations of the town and the region, and compiled a booklet listing preferred shops, restaurants and other useful addresses in L'Isle sur la Sorgue. And when we left, they provided several suggestions about where to go between L'Isle sur la Sorgue and our next destination, and saw us off with great cordiality.
If all Airbnbs were as delightful as Le Petit Cezanne, travel would be always easy and pleasant. Five stars to Claire and Gérard and their lovely place! We would be more than happy to stay there again.

About the Host, Claire
