  • Flame and Raven were very accommodating and generous. We loved the stay, everything was clean and tidy and they even shared fruit from their garden with us. Highly recommended.

  • Thank you for the massage and the host. House is sooooo lovely and sweet.

  • Raven and Flame were lovely hosts - welcoming and warm, and also offered privacy. They have thought of a lot of special touches for guests. The shared kitchen has anything you could need and the shared living space too. (Hosts are on a lower level; 3 guest room occupants share a bathroom, kitchen and living area.) Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Also, I made my reservation very last minute, but they got back to me within minutes, so it was seamless. Very close to downtown. Wonderful experience.

  • My friend and I took a weekend trip to visit Monticello, and we stayed one night in the blue room. Our room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The bathroom right across the hall was neat as well. The roomy living area has a comfortable layout, and the large screened deck out back is idyllic for hanging out in the summer. The house overall has a nice and relaxed feel to it.

Raven and Flame are warm hosts with a great sense of humor. Being locals, know a great deal about the area. My friend and I both felt very safe and cared for.

I have to add here that I was careless enough to leave my wallet behind in a towel on the bed, and when Raven and Flame realized this (before I did), they made every effort to get in contact with me and get it back to me as soon as possible.

  • Raven and Flame were absolutely wonderful hosts, and their house was a treat to stay in. The rooms were pleasant, clean, and quiet, and the kitchen was wonderfully stocked with eggs and bread for breakfast cooking. (They even had great spices!) Raven and Flame were gracious hosts, and we really enjoyed chatting with them and getting to know them. The other guests were lovely too. We looked forward every morning to sharing coffee and a chat with our hosts and fellow guests before setting off on our adventure of the day. We'd definitely stay here again!

  • Raven was a great host. He gave us all the information about the guesthouse we needed and also provided a map to make it easier to get around town. The listing was as expected and the neighborhood was really quiet and convenient for us.

  • I was in town to attend an intensive 4 day class that had me gone before 8 and back after 10 most nights. Quiet neighborhood, nice room, bathroom, kitchen, living room. Wonderful back porch for enjoying a pipe (email hidden), wishing I would have packed my pipe or some cigars. Hosts are wonderful open hearted people that gave me plenty of privacy.

I'm an innkeeper, a candle-maker, and a therapist in Charlottesville, VA. My wife is a massage therapist and artist. We now run two inns in town, Alexander House and Fairhaven Guesthouse. It keeps us very busy! We're just become empty nesters - with one in college and one out on his own for the first time. I heard about AirBnB from a guest in our hostel (Alexander House). I've been excited about trying it out.
