We were so pleased to have found Brenda's charming home on a quiet street in the lovely James Bay Area. From the moment we arrived at her doorstep, Brenda was warm and friendly and welcomed us into her home. She offered us lots of great information about neighbourhoods and her restaurant recommendations were perfect. Both the main floor room and the loft room are spacious and cozy. She has provided everything you could possibly need such as amenities, refrigerator, coffee, snacks, TV, movies, as well as a beautiful backyard patio to the sunshine.
Great locations, great welcome and totally felt comfortable. Thank you Brenda
Hi Bjorn: Thank you so much for being a great guest. I am responding to a review that I received from Donna in February/2015 and this was advised by airbnb. My cancellation policy is an airbnb policy. It allows cancellation with at least 1 week's notice. It is as advertised on my listing and allows me to plan my life around bookings with confidence. The stairs are a bit steep and I do not hide this fact in my listing. I have a secure railing and the listing is advertised as a loft. All photos are taken by airbnb. Guest though Airbnb meant breakfast included. I informed the guest this was simply the name of the company and that breakfast is not included. She was very upset and abusive to learn this. On occasion I will bake muffins or cookies and sometimes I share these with guests but it is not promised within my listing. I would have let them use the washer and dryer and instead I wanted to deliver a higher level of customer service and did their laundry for them. I love meeting new people and opening my home to those travelling to Victoria. This guest has been my first bad experience with Airbnb and had me question whether to continue to offer my home to people. I recognize this was the guest's first airbnb experience and there was high expectations the guest had that were not part of what I offer. I've chosen to trust in the airbnb community and I will not let one bad experience deter me.

We would not stay at this BNB again. We quickly learned why the host has a "No Cancellation Policy."
The stairs to the attic suite were steep and slippery. The attic had slopping ceilings which we were aware of going in, though are awkward for a tall person. Lighting is dim which made reading, shaving, putting contacts, or washing face problematic.
Advertising pictures showing kitchen, dining room and deck are misleading as the host did not want us to use them except for us to cook our own breakfast and clean up daily.
Host would not let us use the washer and dryer but offered to wash our clothes after we asked, after the qualifying 7 day period stated.
The bed was comfortable, location was wonderful and it was a cute clean setting.

Brenda was a delight. She was very welcoming and accommodating. Whether you are visiting Victoria for the first time or know the streets like the back of your hand this was a great place to stay. The house is tucked in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to everything. The room is just as its shown in the pictures, very clean and cozy. The heritage house has a lot of character! The best feature for me was the double soaker tub.... divine!
