Spacious charming loft with one bedroom, private en suite and sitting room facing lush gardens.
Best Location in Victoria - James Bay
I welcome you to stay in the loft of my 1908 character home in James Bay. The loft has a spacious bedroom with a queen size real bed. The newly renovated bathroom has a large soaker tub and pedestal sink.
There is a separate sitting room with a garden view, a Keurig machine for coffee, tea and hot chocolate, mini fridge and water cooler. For longer stays laundry, kitchen use and storage is available.

My home is a short walk to beautiful downtown Victoria, the Parliament Buildings, The Empress Hotel, Fisherman's Wharf, Beacon Hill Park and dozens of quality restaurants and coffee shops.
Your home away from home is quiet and peaceful with lush gardens. The private backyard and outdoor decks make for a peaceful oasis after a day of sightseeing.

Interaction with Guests
I love visitors and am always happy to engage in conversation, help with directions or things to do but will also respect your privacy.
My neighborhood is quiet and filled with birds, flowers and trees. Its close to the ocean, many restaurants, shopping, grocery stores ...... So close to so much.
Bus stop is a 1/2 block from my home and a 15 minute walk to downtown, 10 minute walk to the clipper ferry terminal and a 2 minute walk to the helijet terminal.
Other Things to Note
If you are coming from the airport, hop on the YYJ airport shuttle and they will drop you off at the Coast Harbourside Inn which is a 5 minute walk (2 1/2 blocks) to my home. There is also street parking in the neighborhood.
No smoking or drugs. Please remove footwear at the front door.

We would not stay at this BNB again. We quickly learned why the host has a "No Cancellation Policy."
The stairs to the attic suite were steep and slippery. The attic had slopping ceilings which we were aware of going in, though are awkward for a tall person. Lighting is dim which made reading, shaving, putting contacts, or washing face problematic.
Advertising pictures showing kitchen, dining room and deck are misleading as the host did not want us to use them except for us to cook our own breakfast and clean up daily.
Host would not let us use the washer and dryer but offered to wash our clothes after we asked, after the qualifying 7 day period stated.
The bed was comfortable, location was wonderful and it was a cute clean setting.

Brenda was nothing but helpful and Welcoming both before and during our stay. I had quite a few questions before we visited and she responded immediately every time.
Brenda was a delight. She was very welcoming and accommodating. Whether you are visiting Victoria for the first time or know the streets like the back of your hand this was a great place to stay. The house is tucked in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to everything. The room is just as its shown in the pictures, very clean and cozy. The heritage house has a lot of character! The best feature for me was the double soaker tub.... divine!
Lovely, quiet and clean space in a beautiful house with a very comfortable bed and a cute sitting room. Brenda was a friendly and welcoming hostess -- unfortunately, we weren't in town long enough to make use of all her recommendations!
It was an excellent base for walking to Fisherman's Wharf (just up the street) and downtown (about 20 minutes' walk to the BC Parliament Buildings, depending on your route).
If I have one small complaint, it's that the low ceilings make the bathtub very difficult to use as a shower -- probably easiest to just take a bath! Taller guests may also find themselves banging their heads into the ceiling while walking through the suite.
That said, if you mind your head you'll find it a wonderful base for your time in Victoria! I'm happy to recommend it for other travelers and would stay here again.
Thank you for your kind review and about the shower comment I'm sorry if you thought I had a shower in my loft but I have not advertised it as that. It is advertised as a large soaker tub and though it does have a hand shower/sprayer which can be used to rinse off and it works very well when I clean the tub. But it does not have a stand up shower and you can also see that in my photos that I have posted on airbnb. Thank you.
Brenda made us feel very welcome; she is a gracious and helpful host. Her place is very charming and comfortable with many thoughtful touches - she has paid a lot of attention to detail. Her place is very conveniently located, just a 10 minute walk to downtown, yet it is very quiet at night. Would absolutely stay here again.
Hello Victoria: Thank you so much for the review and I wanted to let you know that I have 22 photos on my listing and they include photos of the bathroom with the soaker tub, there are a couple of the sitting room, backyard photos and a photo of the front of my home. You are welcome back anytime.
