What a charming place! Located on the top floor of an apartment building. The large outdoor terrace will make this an excellent flat to entertain a few friends. It's on the 4th floor, so be ready to walk up some stairs :) Mirko is an nice host too.
Mirkos apartment is perfectly located in San Giovanni. Just a few minutes from the Metro. There is a lot of stores and charming restaurants just around the corner from the apartment. The terrace was just as you can see in the pictures - perfect!
We will absolutley recomend the apartment and Mikro for other travelers who wants a lovely apartment and a good host. We'll be back :)
Mirko's apartment was great! I have just spent 5 nights there with my husband. It had everything we needed for our stay in Rome. The terrace is lovely to sit out in the evening. Bathroom very spacious. Ideal for a couple. There is a sofa bed also which would maybe do for kids.
It is 5 min walk to the nearest Metro, and from there you can go all over Rome.
Overall, we both loved it and would stay there again- highly recommended!
Ottima esperienza! Appartamento molto accogliente ed ideale per soggiorni brevi di 2-3 persone, se si vuole vivere la città da residenti.. e non come classici turisti..Logisticamente ben posizionato, in zona comunque molto tranquilla. Lo consiglio.
This third-floor apartment with a single bedroom sleeps four if two are on the sofa bed and two on the queen bed in the loft. The bedroom only has moderate (to 24C) air conditioning. The terrace outside has table, chairs and many plants and is lovely in mild weather. Groceries, gelato and tiramisu are all an easy walk away. The Coliseum is also walking distance - about a mile, and the Metro stop (Ponte Lungo) on Via Appia is just a few blocks away (the A, orange line that takes you to the Vatican). The kitchen has stove, oven, toaster-oven, fridge with small freezer (freeze your water bottles for your next day´s excursions) - everything but a microwave. Spices, condiments and olive oil were in the kitchen. Free parking is on the street - competing for the white-lined spots. A dedicated spot was €5 per day from Mirko. We parked our car for 3 days and found it easy to walk or use Metro from this location. Somehow we keep ending up in Rome in August. I want to return in cooler weather and would stay here again.
English > Positive aspects: the place has a large superb terrace and is enough for two people. Besides it's located in a very calm area, nearby a subway station. The big downside regards hygiene and overall condition: -The fridge's door gasket's old and quite worn; the freezer's completely frosted thus unusable. Mold's in every corner of the fridge as if it hadn't been cleaned for quite a long time. -There were neither tablecloths nor curtains over the pergola, like shown in the pictures, so the terrace's unusable in direct sunlight (almost all day in August). We told Mirko, who said it was broken but usable and he would bring it over the next day. We waited until 11:45 and we've never heard from Mirko ever since. Half day wasted for nothing then. -The tableware was greasy and dirty; one of the "only three available" glasses was cracked; besides some sugar and coffee were dried at the bottom of a cup. -The bathroom hadn't been cleaned at all: there were long hairs theres and on the bezel, tile grouting was quite moldy and the bath was VERY dirty. It hadn’t been cleaned since the last guests. -There were many burned-out light bulbs that we could hardly see something in the kitchen. Fortunately, the bed was clean otherwise we would've left on the spot. We're sorry Mirko but your apartment could be just perfect if it were maintained and cleaned, especially since these problems had already been reported in the previous comments for more than over a year ago and you claim the apartment would be clean on our arrival. This was unfortunately not the case.
Mirko's place was everything we wanted and needed it to be. The apartment had great amenities including the terrace, wi-fi, and English television (when we just couldn't walk one more step in Rome). Mirko made great suggestions for food and shopping nearby, and was extremely easy to communicate with. 5 stars, and I hope we get to stay here again one day.
Mirko is a very considerate host! He has great communication throughout your planning and stay. Very nice guy too! The apartment was just adorable! Perfectly sized for two of us. The patio was divine, we spent a lot of time winding down our days there. As with a lot of buildings in Europe, it's older and there are minor flaws here and there, but it has character and comfort. We were really sad to have to leave. Great location, close to the Metro (about a 10 minute walk). It's in a neighborhood with small local bars and places to shop/eat, but not touristy. If you want to be in the "middle of everything", this is not the place, but if you want to escape after a long day and have some local people and places to see, then it's perfect. Everyone was very helpful and friendly there, the shop owners started to greet us as if we were a part of the community. We were two girls traveling alone, yet felt safe in the area. Great Gelato/Tiramisu/Coffee place down the street, I'm sure he'll recommend. There is no lift/elevator, and there are a LOT of stairs. If you are in any way unable to walk/climb much, this will not work. We're both in decent shape, and those things were tough, especially at the end of the day. I'd say that's the only negative, and honestly, the terrace was well worth the climb. It's just as homey and comfy as the pictures show. I'd stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay in Rome!!! Thanks Mirko! :)
A flat on the top of the floor is very nice with the great terrace. A kitchen is equipped basic things like spices, tea or coffee, olive oil and biscuit. It was very comfortable for us. Place is close to a railroad, little bit noise but however sleep was comfortable. It is not so far from Tuscolana train station, 15 minutes by walk. One small problem was with a bidet in the bathroom. We did not use it despite this water was on the floor around.
Nice apartment, good location, great terrace and very friendly host! Will recommend it to my friends
