My girlfriend and I stayed at Riad dar Nakhla for four days in March. We initially stayed in the Juge room (although the Juge room as it's listed on AirBnb is not where we stayed, so now I'm a little confused), which is one of the smaller rooms as far as I could tell. On the plus side, it is very private and quiet, being the only room in that part of the riad. However, the bathroom and shower are a little subpar.
For our second two nights we moved into the Khamsa room, which is much more lavishly decorated and a bit bigger, with a very nice shower. However, it is right next to two other rooms, and has a window that opens into the street, so noise can be an issue.
The location was good, with a relatively straight shot into Jemaa el Fna, but far enough away to escape the chaos of the square.
Samir and Abdel (not sure if that's right, but there's two dudes that take care of stuff) were very helpful, both with the accommodations and with surviving and navigating Marrakech itself. Breakfast was simple but tasty; bread, a few crepe-like variations, honey, jam and butter, and coffee and oj. And the girls that take care of cooking and cleaning did a load of laundry for us!
Overall great experience.
We had the Khamsa room for 4 days and loved it! The furniture, the traditional plastering and ceiling paintings surround you with an authentic oriental feeling. The riad itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's located in the central heart of the Medina, lovingly decorated with Moroccan craftworks and has a stunning roof terrace - the perfect place to watch the sunset after a day in the Souks. Samir and the team has been super friendly and helpful hosts. The whole atmosphere is perfectly relaxed and they serve a simple but tasty breakfast on the terrace. Highly recommended!
