A spacious room with a king size bed and ensuite shower room. This room is on the ground floor at the rear of the house, overlooking garden and hills. There is a TV/DVD player and a kettle in the room. For this season there is a dining table and chairs in the room so you can enjoy breakfast in your own space.

The space
My house is cosy, warm and comfortable, with stunning views in all directions. It is very peaceful. The room is a generous size. There is underfloor heating and an air re-circulation system keeps the air fresh.
The house is close to beautiful sandy beaches and is a pleasant 20 minute walk or less than 5 minute drive to Arisaig village, where you will find eateries, general store, marina with boat trips to the Small Isles and a little heritage centre and shop. The Jacobite steam train is a big attraction in the area and passes through the village.

There is lots to do and see in the area, so don't rush through!!

I have another large double room with king-size bed and private bathroom with bath and shower adjacent (not ensuite) upstairs. See my other listing - Sgiath House B&B Arisaig sea views.

Guest access
Breakfast this year will be delivered to your room. Guests are welcome to use the patio or the seating area by the front door.

Other things to note
Please note, I do not have locks on the rooms, in case this is a concern to you. It is a very safe area and I will be around most of the time during the stay.

All communal spaces (there aren’t many) will be regularly cleaned and sanitised each day. Your room will have been thoroughly aired, cleaned and sanitised before your arrival. Hand sanitiser will be provided at the front door. Please bring your own for use whilst visiting.

Location

Arisaig, Scotland, United Kingdom

I have two double rooms in the house, both with comfortable king size beds, and private bathrooms.
The house is down a short track leading off the coast road, a little less than a mile from the village and a pleasant 20 minute walk or less than 5 minute drive.
The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful, with easy access to local beaches, the golf course and the village itself, which has a hotel, a restaurant, two cafes, a general store with Post Office and cashpoint machine and marina from which you can take day trips to any of the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck.
The Arisaig Hotel serves delicious meals and often has live music. See their website or Facebook page for details of what’s happening this year, which may be slightly different due to Covid. New for this year is a covered outdoor eating and drinking area.
Meals are also served at The Old Library Lodge and Rhu cafe, as well as teas and coffees at the Arisaig Marine cafe. From the Marina you can take a day trip to the Small Isles - Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck - a great day out with time on the island of your choice, plus the chance of spotting seals, dolphin or even minke whale. The Land, Sea and Island centre is a mine of local history information and has a small gift shop.
The closest beach is a 15 minute or so walk and there are many other beaches within a short driving distance. You could be treated to one of our astonishingly beautiful sunsets over the sea towards the Small Isles and the southern tip of the Isle of Skye.
Traigh (pronounced Try) golf course is a mile further along the coast road.
Five miles away, at the end of the road, is the fishing port of Mallaig. Here there are a range of shops and the CalMac ferry terminal, with ferries going to the island and Skye. There is a range of shops and a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and Fitness Suite.
There are train stations at Arisaig and Mallaig and, in the season, the Jacobite steam train, running from Fort William to Mallaig and back, makes a nice day out.
There are local walks of all sorts, and, of course, the beaches!

I have lived and worked in Arisaig for 30 years. My 2 children grew up here and now live locally with their own families. Sgiath House was built in 2010 and is an individual and beautifully crafted home sitting in an elevated position with beautiful views in all directions. I love nature and the outdoors and am a keen sea kayaker, hill walker and gardener. I enjoy discovering new places, often right on my doorstep, but also far away. I have been involved with music most of my life and enjoy the local music scene. I do bnb because I live on my own and enjoy meeting people and learning about other places and lives. I also need the income so I can afford to continue living in my lovely house! If you want to know more, come and visit! I look forward to meeting you and sharing a bit of Arisaig.

During your stay
I live in the house and like to welcome guests personally whenever possible, but this year interaction, sadly, will be limited. You will be able to check yourself in and keep in touch by phone and messaging. Arrangements for access will be agreed before arrival. Breakfast will be ordered in advance and delivered to your room between 7.30 and 9.00. Cups, cutlery etc. will be (eco) disposable and used only by yourselves during your stay. Feel free to bring your own re-fillable mug if you want.
I'm happy to help with advice about things to do and see in the area, etc. * In the current Covid situation social distancing should be respected both between myself and guests and guests and other guests, to keep everyone safe.
