Completely Remodeled in Fall of 2013 this charming two bedroom riverfront bungalow includes bicycles for cruising Downtown Bend a new boat dock and Stand-up paddle boards for fun on the river. Great location, three parks within less than a two minute walk and 20 minutes to Mt.Bachelor . .
The bungalow was built in 1918 and has been completely remodeled, keeping much of the charm of the era. The vaulted ceilings, light walls and updated windows allow light to filter through the space. There is engineered plank flooring, touches of wood on the wall, and two carpeted bedrooms, each with a queen bed. A gas fireplace heater with bold flames and glass front greets you in the living room, creating a very cozy ambiance. There is a sturdy futon sofa that can comfortably sleep 1 to 2 adults. The bathroom has a generous size shower with walls in custom vintage tiles and a floor in smooth pebble that pampers the feet. The fully functional kitchen has all new appliances, and the laundry area contains a new stacked washer/dryer. The furniture and accessories were carefully selected to compliment the interiors, provide maximum comfort and give the feeling of home away from home.
There is a bicycle garage with 2 women's and 2 men's bikes...also 2 paddle boards and new boat dock. Other sports gear is available upon request. The large fenced yard has a grassy area for outdoor games and a fire pit for simply hanging out or enjoying roasted hot dogs and S'mores. With many quaking Aspens, Blue Spruce trees and a stoic Elm at the rivers edge, the property invites both activity and relaxation.
While we do not live on the property we are close by and like to personally welcome our guests whenever possible. If we are not in town there will be instructions and lots of information to insure our guests have everything needed to enjoy their stay and we will be available on cell to answer any questions.
The neighborhood is filled with similar bungalow styled homes and very friendly neighbors. A few people strolling the sidewalks, walking their dogs or riding bikes can be seen on any given day, depending on the weather. The Riverside Market is right around the corner and is a delightful gathering place that serves a substantial menu with homemade soups, delicious sandwiches and salads as well as a full bar. There is lots of outdoor seating and several tables inside. It is a very family friendly atmosphere with a grassy play area and a hometown feeling. For more shopping and dining Downtown Bend is a 2 minute drive or an enjoyable, scenic bike ride. Passing by the beautiful Mirror Pond you'll experience stunning snowy photo opts in the winter, splendid, colorful trees in the fall and lakeside concerts in the summer...... gorgeous year-round!
There is public transportation very close by as well as many parks, trails and walking paths. Magnificent Mt Bachelor is an approximate 20 minute drive and has fantastic skiing, snowboarding and winter fun.
Excellent stay. Very well thought out place. Very central. Ben and Deborah were attentive and helpful. A side note: The house itself is on the river, but is a bit back from the actual water. You are maybe thirty feet from the edge of the water. They have a dock and firepit by the water if you are keen to hang out. The bikes were a pretty cool option. They had the works!
Come enjoy this sweet little cottage nestled in a quiet part of Bend right off the river and just a 15 minute walk to downtown. This rental is incredibly cozy - the owners did a great job of decorating and organizing this space so you feel comfortable and relaxed. The property has a great deck right on the river with a huge yard for playing. We went for the weekend with our two year-old and threw rocks in the river, played ball in the yard, and had a huge fire at night in the back yard. There's a quaint bridge over the river to the park right across the street; a four block walk to Drake Park to stroll along the river and go shopping in downtown; and a five minute walk to Mother's Juice Bar for breakfast sandwiches and smoothies and beers and pizza at Ten Barrel Brewing for dinner. Deborah and Ben were incredibly helpful - available for any that might come up for the weekend (of which there were none) and incredibly communicative up until the weekend we stayed. Couldn't ask for better hosts. This was great for us as a family, and it's perfect for two couples looking to go hiking, relax in town and then talk the night away under the stars around the fire by the river!
We had a lovely stay at Riverfront. The firepit was great for new years eve and Ben and Deborah were so sweet to leave a Christmas tree and Santa hat for the holidays! They were awesome, so helpful, and we have referred them to many friends and people in the neighborhood thus far. Hopefully we will return to Bend and say at this lovely place.
