Completely Remodeled in Fall of 2013 this charming two bedroom riverfront bungalow includes bicycles for cruising Downtown Bend a new boat dock and Stand-up paddle boards for fun on the river. Great location, three parks within less than a two minute walk and 20 minutes to Mt.Bachelor . .
The bungalow was built in 1918 and has been completely remodeled, keeping much of the charm of the era. The vaulted ceilings, light walls and updated windows allow light to filter through the space. There is engineered plank flooring, touches of wood on the wall, and two carpeted bedrooms, each with a queen bed. A gas fireplace heater with bold flames and glass front greets you in the living room, creating a very cozy ambiance. There is a sturdy futon sofa that can comfortably sleep 1 to 2 adults. The bathroom has a generous size shower with walls in custom vintage tiles and a floor in smooth pebble that pampers the feet. The fully functional kitchen has all new appliances, and the laundry area contains a new stacked washer/dryer. The furniture and accessories were carefully selected to compliment the interiors, provide maximum comfort and give the feeling of home away from home.
There is a bicycle garage with 2 women's and 2 men's bikes...also 2 paddle boards and new boat dock. Other sports gear is available upon request. The large fenced yard has a grassy area for outdoor games and a fire pit for simply hanging out or enjoying roasted hot dogs and S'mores. With many quaking Aspens, Blue Spruce trees and a stoic Elm at the rivers edge, the property invites both activity and relaxation.
Interaction with Guests
While we do not live on the property we are close by and like to personally welcome our guests whenever possible. If we are not in town there will be instructions and lots of information to insure our guests have everything needed to enjoy their stay and we will be available on cell to answer any questions.
The neighborhood is filled with similar bungalow styled homes and very friendly neighbors. A few people strolling the sidewalks, walking their dogs or riding bikes can be seen on any given day, depending on the weather. The Riverside Market is right around the corner and is a delightful gathering place that serves a substantial menu with homemade soups, delicious sandwiches and salads as well as a full bar. There is lots of outdoor seating and several tables inside. It is a very family friendly atmosphere with a grassy play area and a hometown feeling. For more shopping and dining Downtown Bend is a 2 minute drive or an enjoyable, scenic bike ride. Passing by the beautiful Mirror Pond you'll experience stunning snowy photo opts in the winter, splendid, colorful trees in the fall and lakeside concerts in the summer...... gorgeous year-round!
There is public transportation very close by as well as many parks, trails and walking paths. Magnificent Mt Bachelor is an approximate 20 minute drive and has fantastic skiing, snowboarding and winter fun.
While we love animals...especially dogs...due to allergies our place cannot allow pets. We are also a non-smoking property.
We make every effort to insure that our guests have a very enjoyable experience and are happy to accommodate special requests whenever possible. We do require a 3 night minimum and our place is professionally cleaned after every stay.
We had the most wonderful experience renting the Riverfront Bungalow for a week. 2 adults and 3 kids fit comfortably. It will be very hard to find a better location - quiet and close to everything Downtown. The house is thoughtfully decorated and equipped with everything you need to fully enjoy your stay. Boat, grill, fire wood for the fire pit, plenty of comfortable chairs and Everything you need inside. Great welcome basket was sure a bonus.
Thank you, Ben and Deborah for creating this wonderful place for us to stay.
Ben & Deborah's Riverfront Vacation Rental was adorable and fit four people comfortably. The house is in a great location right off of the river and close to Mt Bachelor, downtown and Smith Rock. Ben & Deborah checked in on us frequently to make sure that we arrived safely and that we were able to go home without any difficulties. We had a great time and overall a great experience!
Beautiful get away for an extended MLK weekend. The place is perfectly located and very welcoming. Would come back anytime.
Ben and Deborah were incredibly nice with us. Their bungalow is really beautiful, clean, well decorated and very comfortable. We really appreciated to be so close to the river... We also very much enjoy to be so close to Bend, you can easily walk to restaurants or breweries... Overall a terrific experience and I strongly recommend to stay at Ben and Deborah's bungalow if they want to visit the area!
Ben and Deborah's house was perfect. Very well designed and comfortable. Great location on the river and near downtown. The description was perfectly accurate and the communication couldn't habe been better. I would stay there again. Thank you!
Ben greeted me at the house and made me feel welcome, though he looked a little different than he does in his profile picture ;-). He's a warm guy and I instantly liked him. Communication with Ben and Deborah was convenient and effortless.
The house was the nicest one I've rented in Bend. Everywhere I looked I noticed some interesting detail that Ben attributed to Deborah's impressive eye for design. I think you will agree it's a beautiful space. The location felt private and it is conveniently located close to my favorite places, especially Jackson's Corner, only a minute away. The river frontage was also a real treat.
Ben and Deborah could not have been more welcoming. They met us in person and took care of us before, during and after our stay. The place is even better in person, beautiful home, warm, clean, and walking distance to the best parts of town.
Great for families being on the river, paddle board or canoe to town or the park across the river, or it was a perfect romantic get away for just us two, we loved the fire pit out back by the river.
We truly could not have had a better experience.
Thank you guys!

We are a professional couple, Renewable Energy and Interior Design, recently relocated from Hawaii. We moved to Bend to enjoy the many outdoor activities, change of seasons and the friendliness of the people. Our love of travel enables us to pick up treasures along the way and share them with our guests. It was a real joy to find this gem on the river and to bring it to it's current remodeled condition. Both of us are environmentally aware and are gratified to have been able to incorporate many recycled materials in this project. This is an enjoyable space that gives a nod to a previous era and is energy efficient while providing all the amenities to make for a comfortable experience. The beautiful quaking aspen trees give movement and grace to the landscape. The giant elm at the edge of the river creates a relaxing canopy to sit under and enjoy the sounds of the water. Our hope is that all of our guests enjoy the property and the area as much as we do.
