Patricia and Robert were unable to greet us when we arrived at their Humble Retreat, but the home had been impeccably prepared for our four day stay. Everything was very clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was completely functional for full meal preparation. We did not have need of the futon in the second bedroom, but the queen bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. The main bathroom contains a large, beautifully tiled shower and whirlpool tub. The location of the house is very convenient for exploring the surrounding area, including Sedona, Jerome, Oak Creek Canyon, and various State Parks. Patricia and Robert were very prompt in responding to telephone calls/texts/emails. We would not hesitate to stay again at Patricia and Robert's Humble Retreat the next time we travel to the Sedona area.
My husband and I stayed here for four days in April, and it was lovely. This home is comfortable and lovingly decorated as well as a fine example of eclectic decor. I loved the integration of the house's original elements, functional and style updates and its Southwestern (but not kitschy) identity.
There was a bit of a cold snap during our stay, but the place is easily warmed by all the wonderful sunlight the windows let in. Besides all the natural light, both the inside and outside are well lit with nightlights inside and motion sensing floods outside so I never found myself fumbling around in the dark.
The garden around the house is really wonderful. I did sample a chard leaf (delicious) but it was a bit early to really take advantage of the garden. I am super jealous of whoever is there when the peaches start coming in!
The neighborhood is tucked back off the highway, and is very quiet. We drove past the place a couple of times when it was dark, but that is a more than fair trade for the wonderful view of the stars at night from the back porch.
Communication was easy and Patricia almost always returned my messages within an hour. Would love to stay again the next time we are in the area!
I enjoyed a very relaxing stay at Patricia and Robert's home. They were great about staying in contact prior to my stay. Upkeep is wonderful, both inside and outside the home. Neighborhood is quiet and has lovely views of the Prescott National Forest. A very good access point for areas of interest and grocery shopping. I would stay again if in the area, without hesitation.
The hosts, Patricia and Robert, made us feel welcome and were very willing to make our stay comfortable and easy. We had to contact them a few times during our stay and they responded immediately with positive solutions and a fun touch of humor. The house was cozy and just right for our month long stay. The neighbor hood was quiet and friendly with lots of subdivision roads to ride our bikes. I would highly recommend this house as a home base for exploring the surrounding areas - Cottonwood, Sedona and Prescott, Arizona.
We had a lovely 4 day stay at Patricia's ' Other Home'. The neighbourhood was very quiet at night, and an easy drive to places like Sedona, Jerome and Montezuma Castle as well as a ten minute drive to Cottonwood for groceries or other essentials.
Although we didn't meet Pat and Rob, they were easily available by phone or text to answer questions.
Their home was simple and lovingly decorated, and very comfortable for the two of us.
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage in Cottonwood. We were very comfortable and would stay here again. The house was nicely decorated with original art and talavera pottery. We liked the neighborhood very much. It was quiet and rural and right across the street from a natural open space area by the Verde River. We enjoyed going for walks there.
The house was in a perfect spot for exploring the Verde Valley, Jerome, and Sedona. We visited the national monuments in the area- Montezuma Castle, Montezuma Well, and Tizigoot- highly recommended. We could have spent another couple of days to see even more of Sedona and do more hiking.
Robert & Patricia love nature and are making this place a retreat. She has vast experience to hosting tourists from different latitudes . Both have participated in Clay & Strawbale workshops. They are avid internet researchers about Permaculture and began to creating the yard seated around on this way...They found this humble home and follow in love with the space where they are doing wonderfull job for to make this an attractive, relaxing and cozy holidays home, where guests can feel at ease -
