We had the best holiday in this great apartment. The atmosphere in Trastevere is so warm and welcoming. Nuccio and his friend met us as arranged with a warm welcome and helped us get our bags upstairs. Trastevere is convenient to all the major sites you may wish to see in Rome. I thoroughly recommend this apartment.
Dear Ada and Nuccio, thank you for having us in your lovely apartment. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously in Rome in your lovely apartment in trastevere. It was walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit. We walked to campo dei fiori for dinner on our 1st night. The next day we walked to trevi fountain, on to Spanish steps, pantheon and final stop was at the Roman Forum and the colossuem. The next day was to St. Basilica, Vatican museum and the sistine chapels. It was possible to visit all the must see in Rome with the detailed map provided before our trip. We never got lost and always enjoyed to return to the apartment after a long day out to the lively streets in trastevere. Check in was easy with simona, ada"s sister. Apartment was clean with fresh towels provided. We enjoyed out quiet private time without interference nor disturbance. Check out was seamless and easy. Apartment was in a safe area. Truly a home away from home. Highly recommended and book it before its gone! Ciao! Un abbraccio!
Let me start by saying the owners were helpful in answering a couple of different inquiries I had, which I very much appreciated.
The apartment is in a good location, both for Trastevere and also if you want quick access to crossing the river and venturing over to other areas. It is quite spacious, which was much appreciated having transferred from a closet-sized hotel room in another part of Rome. I actually found the apartment to be pretty charming.
I was asked to meet at noon to get the keys and have the apartment. They showed up relatively on time (one imagines ten minutes late to be early in Rome;)), but what really troubled me was the apartment had not yet been cleaned. It's really not ok to ask me to turn around and leave for a couple of hours when I came at the time they asked me to be there. The apartment should have been ready. Making the issue more frustrating was that when I came back later, I realized the shower couldn't possible have been cleaned. Let's just say it was not fully cleaned from the previous occupants--nothing really gross, but one prefers to see it's obviously been cleaned. The street is much noisier than I expected, considering it isn't a main one (sounds like there is a small zoo of dogs and birds across the street), so either bring ear plugs or prepare to shut the windows. And the bed is simply not comfortable. I stayed in six beds and one futon during my travels, and this was by far the most uncomfortable of all of them. When a futon is more comfortable, it's time to buy a new mattress.
Again, the location is good and the space is charming (love the ceiling in particular). Not to mention the price is great. But, when you are staying somewhere, the above issues matter. I think some minor adjustments could be done and all would be well.
First of all:
Our guests can stay in the apartment until 11:00 so, it is normal not find the apartment ready at noon.
What you wrote about the shower is not true, in fact the apartment was not ready when you came because we was finishing cleanings and shower for us has priority.
This place was in the heart of Trastevere and walking distance to tons of restaurants. Ada and Nuccio have been great hosts and very responsive to the requests. Apartment was big, very charmingand very well decorated. I would definitely recommend to stay in this apartment.
Ada made us feel very welcome. She provided us with tons of information prior to arrival regarding Rome and the neighborhood that her home is in which was very helpful. The accommodations were exactly as described. The neighborhood, Trastevere, is a great place to stay far enough away from the city center but still within walking distance for all the major sights.
We really enjoyed staying at the apartment of Ada E Nuccio. Nuccio welcomed us in the house, we could use all the equipment and all was clean and fresh. The living room is good for having a nice quiet evening, or, in our case, staying at home reading because of the heavy rain outside. The place is situated at a most beautiful part of Rome, really centrally situated. And Ada E Nuccio make you extra at home in Rome by the detailed description of places to eat, things to see and areas to shop; very handy. We will come back for sure!
