Other Things to Note
From the living room window I saw a camel, a bald eagle and 2 red pandas all in a few minutes!
No smoking and no cats. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Really lovely space in a good part of town - it was a ten minute drive to pretty much anywhere, and I was able to see camels while I drank my tea. B & P were super responsive and while I didn't need anything during my stay, I know that if I had, they would have been on it. Honestly, the apartment is charming with the wood floors, and it is *so* much more space than I anticipated. It is on the third floor so bear that in mind re: baggage.
The place was very neat, and it was very charming! I really liked my stay there, and the owners were always prompt with their replies and advice whenever I had questions. Also, the room was warm and the bed was comfortable. It was pretty close to downtown Cincinnati, so I got to explore there as well. Thank you so much!
I would like to give this place a good review, as everything started out just fine and just as expected. The place was simple and suitable for my cross-country road trip needs. A little noisy, as other reviewers commented on, but I was anticipating this, so it wasn't a bother. However, things got interesting when we turned the sink on and couldn't get any hot water. We tried the other sink. Nothing. The shower. Nothing. So I emailed and texted Priscila & Brad to alert them to the problem while my boyfriend and I stepped out for some dinner. Three hours later I had yet to hear a response from them, so I resent the text, thinking maybe they never received the first one. Still no response. When we arrived home we checked the sink and - lo and behold - it was hot. Happy to have the problem fixed, but confused by the lack of communication, we went to bed. The next morning, however, when we went to take showers, the situation worsened. The water only stayed warm for about 2 minutes before turning cold and losing all pressure, to the point that it just drizzled out of the shower head. Only one of us even got to take a shower (albeit cold and more like a wash cloth being wrung out over your head), as it was clear that staying dirty for another 8 hour car ride was preferable to attempting a follow-up shower. At this point we were pretty frustrated but still willing to let P & B resolve the problem with us, without us having to write a bad review. So I wrote them a message to let them know we had checked out, and I told them about the shower issues we'd experienced that morning as well. However, I once again received no response. No apology for the lack of communication the night before. No apology for our inability to take showers. Zero communication after we checked in. I really wanted to not feel frustrated or disappointed, but P & B kind of made that impossible for me.
Now I have heard everything. Reviews consistently cite our responsiveness. In fact, in our welcome email we ALWAYS tell people, "If you have any questions or problems call us anytime!" So, Rebekah claims she did not hear from us for 3 hours?
The fact is she wrote and said there was no hot water before dinner. I IMMEDIATELY wrote back and told her we just replaced the water heater. It should have hot water by the time you get back.
I didn't hear anything else from them - case closed right? So I thought! AFTER they leave they write and say they didn't have any water. I rush over, the hot water heater is working fine, no leaks, the apartment has hot water going to it, So, what kind of response do you want? If you write me after you leave I can't fix any supposed problems. I suspect there was air in the line and it took a while for water to make it to the shower head, but who knows.
I admit I did not respond to the email she wrote after she left, but what was there to say at that point? Sorry you weren't patient enough for the water to make it to the shower head? Sorry you did not call us as instructed because we could have addressed any concerns immediately?
Our stay with Priscilla & Brad was just perfect . The apartment is spacious , clean and the temperature in every room was more than pleasant. The apartment met all our needs and the hosts were always available for any questions we had . The location is very good for those who just like we need to stay near the hospital . There is a bus stop across the street to drive through the city was easy. The kitchen supplied all my needs and I like to cook . Surely indicate Priscilla & Brad and I hope to stay in the apartment again next year.
This is my second extended stay here, and again was very good. The house is clean, was very warm (during very cold days) and good for all my needs. Again - highly recommended for people who work or are visiting the university or near-by hospital
The apartment was exactly as described and comfortable for our needs. The hosts were very clear and accurate with their communications. We will definitely book this location again the next time we are traveling to Cincinnati.
