Located in historic Chester County our 18th century stone farm house is nestled in a tranquil setting close to state and national parks as well as an hour by car or train to Philadelphia for urban life and rich history. Historic St. Peters Village is just around the corner.

The space

The room for guests is located on the second floor and is quite spacious.(15 x 21) and cheery. (staircase is a bit steep) Windows face three directions and since the house sits on a hill there are great views. Located just across the hall is a private bath and a small sitting/reading area is in the hall outside the room. Beds in the room include a queen and a single bed which comfortably accommodate up to three people. Floors are restored from the original yellow pine and made cozy with area rugs(URL HIDDEN)We have a geo-thermal heating and cooling system so the house is very comfortable throughout the entire year.
The bathroom has been completely updated and includes a tub with a shower.

Guest access

Guests have a separate entrance which allows them access to a living room with a flat screen TV. Wifi is also available. Although breakfast is not served, tea and coffee are offered to guests in the morning. A small refrigerator and coffee maker which takes pods are available to guests.

Interaction with guests

We will be available to answer any questions about the area and give recommendations for activities, which are numerous in the area. We are also happy to engage in conversation with guests or happy to allow them total peace and quiet. Of course this is the personal choice of guests.

Other things to note

(URL HIDDEN)We have a resident cat named Jeeves who is free to roam the house, but can be restricted to certain areas (or even outside). Guests just need to let us know if they are "fans of cats" and we will make adjustments.(URL HIDDEN) There are horses on the property which add to the beauty of the landscape and we do warn guests that the fences are electrified so we suggest enjoying the horses from a distance.

Jacqueline was the very model of a gracious and worldly host! The property is charming and picturesque, with a generous feeling of home. The surrounding area has a surprising number of attractive activities to offer the adventurous weekend warrior. I am grateful that my path led me to this particular front door!

Had a wonderful stay at Jacqueline's horse farm! The home is secluded enough that you get to experience the country life but just a few minutes and you're on the main road with shops and restaurants. Jacqueline was very hospitable the whole stay. Would gladly stay here again!!

Jackie was a great host. She had very good suggestions, had good conversations and also made some scones for our return trip. The room was cozy and had all the amenities. Will definitely stay with Jackie if we are in the area. Highly recommend!

This place was very clean and quiet. The house was built in the 1700s and has been remodeled with exquisite craftsmanship. I loved the wood and stone work. Jaqueline is super nice and a joy to talk with. Highly recommended!

Jackie's room is wonderful! It's nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and had a very neutral odor which is critical for me. She provided water, coffee, snacks and a most wonderful porch to birdwatch. We've stayed in many Airbnbs and Jackie's home gets high marks. Plus, we enjoyed conversting about her home and travels. When in the area, we will definitely return.

Hi Joan, Thanks for the kind words. Whoever the person happens to be who lives near to me I would greatly appreciate it if you would ask her to get in touch with me. I hope the rest of your time here went well. Jackie

This is a lovely, updated old farmhouse with the friendliest cat & host. Jacqueline is most accommodating and delightful.

I am originally from the Northeastern part of the US, but have lived in western states here as well as Mexico and Spain. My passion is traveling and speaking Spanish as well as teaching the language and culture. I love nature and meeting new people and this seems to happen a lot when I travel alone as well as having the opportunity to have guests in my home.
One of my three grown children lives with me as well as a resident cat who is an indoor/outdoor kitty. As my guest I will be very happy to give you inside information about the area and interesting "non-touristy" places to visit, which are plentiful in this part of Pennsylvania.
