Denis is an incredible person! We are so happy that we spent our final night in Peru at Saya Wasi. The view is spectacular- it can't be fully appreciated from the pictures alone, but is stunning in person. The accommodations are incredibly comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Additionally, our breakfast was delicious, and we really appreciated the fast WiFi when checking in to our flights. Finally, and most importantly, we were so glad to meet Denis and Hernan! Denis greeted us at the door and provided a wealth of information as to his favorite places and how to travel around the region. He also was willing to let us leave our luggage for a few hours before leaving for the airport, which was a lifesaver! He is trruly one of the kindest people I've met, and I wish we'd been able to stay more than one night!
The only thing I can say about Denis, and the accommodations is AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Denis is one of the kindest, most warm hearted people I have ever met, and you will know this within the first few seconds of being around him. He is wonderful with giving advice on places to try around Cusco, and is always available for questions. Along with Denis is Maria who is such a sweetheart - she is always so bright and chipper when you see her, and will go out of the way to make sure you have everything you need. As for the accommodations, they looked marvelous in the pictures online, but those do not do it justice - the place is such a doll, and the view is spectacular! The rooms are very private, and it totally felt like my home away from home. I know most travelers are always concerned with Wifi, and it is awesome here (along with the cable TV). The breakfast is so delicious - I highly recommend the fruit bowl, eggs, bread, and coffee :) Plus, it is delivered to your door when you request it. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience in Cusco! Would give Denis and his accommodations 10 out of 5 stars!
Denis was a great host - kind, accommodating, very knowledgable about the city. Room was exactly as pictured; very comfortable, bathroom was nice. Breakfast was delicious. He makes the best coffee in Peru :) Appreciated his help with getting us a taxi back to the airport. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Cusco.
San Blas was incredible! The pictures are exactly how the room appears and the view was indescribable. We felt extremely welcome by Herman and Marie, they were wonderful! We got breakfast every morning (which we didn't even expect) and it was delicious! We even got to leave our suitcases here while we went on a 2-day Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu tour, which was very helpful. In June, Cusco gets quite cold at night, but there was a heater next to our bed which was awesome :) The TV was great for before bed and the WiFi is very good for when you want to contact friends/family at home. Location is super convenient and within a 5 minute walk to Plaza del Armas and about a 10 minute walk to San Pedro which is where all the markets are! Overall, we had a wonderful experience - highly recommended!
Denis welcomed me and my girlfriend with a friendly smile and gracious hospitality. The host of "Saya Wasi" went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable in his home (even waking up very early in the morning and chasing us out the door because we forgot the lunches he prepared for our Machu Picchu trek). As I write this review, I am currently in the mountains of Peru and I can't imagine returning to a more comfortable and awesome atmosphere, so that's exactly what we're going to do! Saya Wasi is a great place to stay if you're trying to experience the best of Cusco and/or depart or return from a trek!
Great place to stay. It was close to the square and all of the tours. Getting their we had a bit of a problem as the taxi's didn't seem to know the address, even though it was really easy to find it after we knew how to get there. I would suggest taking a map with you to show the driver. Denis was super helpful and organized with information on where to eat and what to do.
Denis was fantastic! The view was breathtaking and the room was comfortable and homey. I can't recommend Saya Wasi highly enough. Denis helped me arrange a tour of the Sacred Valley and stored my bag while I hiked the Inca Trail. If you're in Cusco, you MUST stay here. Oh, and did I mention the breakfast? It's delicious and brought to your room each morning.
