Interaction with Guests
Andrea & Ste live on -site in an unobtrusive, static caravan tucked away, behind the wood shed, with their children and are available if you have any problems. They will be here to welcome you, show you around the cottage, look after the grounds and allotment and provide security for the site. They are very lovely and will answer any queries or sort out any problems during your stay.
We live down a private lane surrounded by a network of public footpaths onto the Moss and horse fields but also close to the airport, M55 and 3 miles from the seafront and trams.
There is ample parking to the side and front of the cottage. We can also safely store your bicycles or place your motorbike in our back garden.
PUBS AT WALKING DISTANCE
THE SHOVELS PUB is within walking distance. It's pub food, cheap and cheerful. They have live bands most weekends. Morrisons and Booths are also walkable. There is a good Indian takeaway RUCHI which you can order online and have delivered for free.
WHY COME TO BLACKPOOL?
In addition to its sandy beaches, Blackpool's major attractions and landmarks include BLACKPOOL TOWER, Blackpool Illuminations, the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Water Park, the Winter Gardens, and the UK's only surviving first-generation tramway, the golden mile promenade complete with piers, fortune-tellers, public houses, trams, donkey rides, fish-and-chip shops and show bars and all things sparkly and glittery. The kids love it!
Stretching from the up market, seaside hamlet of LYTHAM in the south at the mouth of the River Ribble to bright lights of BLACKPOOL in the north, with the small seaside town of ST ANNES in (website hidden) Annes on Sea is a traditional quiet Victorian/Edwardian seaside resort with up-market hotels, a sandy beach, donkeys, a small pier and ice cream stalls. Sand dunes fringe the beach and the town has an excellent, but little-known sand dune nature reserve and very good floral displays.
You can cycle along most of the sea front or walk out across the huge expanse of sand to the sea when the tide is out, frollick in the sand dunes, eat fish and chips and watch the stunning sunset out across the sea.
Lytham St Annes is internationally renowned for golf and has four courses and links, the most notable being the ROYAL LYTHAM & St Annes Golf Club, one of the host courses for the Open Championship, also known as the "British Open", which has been a competition course since first hosting the Open in 1926.
EVEN MORE REASONS TO STAY HERE
Why not have a day out in the Lake District. We are only an hours car ride away. The Lake District, also commonly known as The Lakes is a mountainous region in North West England. It is famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth and the other Lake Poets.
Blackpool airport is 15mins walk away.
No.17 Bus route at the end of the lane which goes into City Centre/Blackpool Tower for £2 adult fare, £1 child.
We are just off the M55.
Other Things to Note
PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO STAY IN THE WINTER...The cottage doesn't have central heating throughout but there is underfloor heating in the kitchen, bathroom and in the downstairs bedroom so you will need to keep the log fire lit, have slippers, woolly jumpers and hot water bottles in beds which we can provide.
We also provide for FREE, a large stack of Logs, kindling/firelighters and bucket of smokeless coal by the multi stove burner. If you need more logs/smokeless coal we can supply them for a small extra cost. Please ask us when you arrive.
Depending on your arrival time, we will try to have the log burner well lit, so the cottage is warm and cosy for your arrival.
No smoking in house please, but you can smoke outside if you collect butts and throw them away.
We had a great stay at Bea's cottage. The property is lovely and so unexpected for the area. The garden is beautiful and the log burner was a particular highlight. We were a group of 7 and there was plenty of room. Even before we arrived Bea was extremely helpful with any questions I had and even purchased a new BBQ for us to use over the weekend. I would definitely recommend this property for a cosy weekend away.
Our stay at the cottage was a great experience, from the welcoming to the actual place. Comfortable with all amenities as describe, a real feel of calm and coziness.
Thank you Bea we will for sure book again!
Wow! What can I say thankyou for letting me and the girls stay in your beautiful cottage :) it really did feel like home for the weekend! We managed to fit 10th in on the saturday without it feel overcrowded somehow haha! The garden, log burner, and cosy living room are highlights for me! We played sardines on one night too which was a giggle too and we met Andrea and her lovely family on Sunday and they showed us round the veg (email hidden)ankyou!!!!!! A perfect weekend
We had a lovely stay at Bea's thatched cottage. A lovely quiet spot, with friendly hosts living on site in case you need anything and the warmest duvet I've ever experienced! If you want somewhere with quick access to main town centre this isn't for you but if you like somewhere a bit out of the way and a bit quirky go for it! The trams run until fairly late at night to pleasure beach which is a 20 min walk so not too bad. Or if there are a few of you a taxi is cheap. All in all a pleasant stay, thanks Bea!
Lovely location. House comes along with an absolutely friendly cat. Bea/Andrea ensured that my stay was thoroughly enjoyable. There was plenty of room for 5 adults. Would recommend anyone to this little gem.
Bev is a great host. She kept in contct through text even though he was away over the new year. The cottage is cosy and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely break, even though the weather was not kind.

About the Host, Bea
Easy going, welcoming and friendly host. Truth seeker, explorer, likes deep conversation and real connection. I live intensely but simply. I try not to 'work' unless I really want to and then it''s play! I cant live without trees, music, somewhere to dance, a pair of good sturdy boots and woolly hats.
I'm a WWOOF host, a tango/jive/salsa dancer/teacher. I live in Totnes and run my own consultancy business.
