Your private guest suite was custom rebuilt in 2017 for relaxation and features an amazing view of our pond, garden, and woods.

While at home, stroll the paver walkway to the pondside patio.

At night, from your windows, you may spot skunks, raccoons, opossums, and other furry friends cleaning up seeds dropped by the birds.

Make s'mores by the pond, or use the provided flashlights to find frogs and tadpoles.

Relax on your private deck or by the pond, soothed by the sounds of the wind chime and waterfalls.

Depending on the season, you may see goldfinches, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, dragonflies, and butterflies flying around the pond and feeders.

A propane barbecue is available and fully stocked for your use.

Other things to note
We have a dog named Bart who lives in the front yard when we have guests—so you may not even see him. The only time you might hear him is when a package is delivered or during Wednesday trash pickup. For the most part, he’s a quiet little guy.

We adopted Bart in April 2019 from Georgia. He’s a low-to-the-ground Basset Hound and Australian Cattle Dog mix.

As a rescue, Bart may have had some difficult experiences in his past, so we do not offer doggie visits.

We also share our home and yard with four cats. While they do not have access to the guest apartment, they do occasionally roam the yard. If you have cat allergies, please keep this in mind.

Neighborhood highlights

Quiet county area with Brook Hollow Winery on one end and horse farms on the other.

Most homes in Knowlton are set on 2-5 acre lots, so there are lots of green space and farms. We are located just off Exit 4 on Route 80. There is never traffic in our area. When there is Pocono traffic at the Delaware Water Gap and in PA, we know all the ways around it.

Appalachian Trail Community Village - Delaware Water Gap - 5 minutes away - coffee shop, BBQ, Historic Castle Inn Tour, Antiques, Ice Cream, Live Jazz, Soba & Sake, Bakery, Grill. We love the DWG!

The Historic Columbia - Portland Footbridge - 2 minutes away. Walk across the Delaware River (amazing photo opp view of the Delaware Water Gap) on a bridge built on the supports of the once longest covered bridge (washed away in 1955). On the Portland side, visit a gourmet chocolate shop, a pub, or grab some yummy grab & go eats.

Ice Cream, Pubs/Bar, Grill: located 5 minutes away.

Travel Center with Gas and Fast Food 3 minutes away.

The Stroudsburgs are located 10 minutes away and have all stores of a typical city.

We're lifelong residents of beautiful Northwest New Jersey, where we dated, married and raised our children. Now that our family no longer needs the guest apartment, we're happy to share it with you. Chris has 35+ years in heavy civil construction and loves cycling and scuba diving; Tara enjoys beautifying our home and yard. Our rescue pooch stays in the fenced front yard, so the back is your private oasis. We look forward to making your Poconos/Delaware Water Gap stay relaxing and memorable!
