Uniquely styled newly renovated studio apartment situated in trendy Highgate just a short walk from the Beaufort St cafe strip and public transport. Secure parking, WIFI, a gorgeous park next door, leafy views and filtered water on tap!
You won't get anything quite as unique and perfectly placed to discover Perth from than The Cheetah Cave! Built in the 1960's and freshly renovated throughout, this small apartment has an original parquetry floor, generous storage spaces, a queen size bed, leafy views from all windows and WIFI.
Undoubtedly the feature of the space is the cheetah billboard that stretches 6.5 metres across the living area. Second to this is the beautifully crafted clay plaster wall that soaks up plastic out-gassing and creates a natural air-conditioning. The floor to ceiling glass tiling in the bathroom is also elegant and awesome!
The apartment is located just a short walk from the trendy Beaufort Street cafe strip as well as bus stops and the East Perth (trans-Australia) train station. Via public transport the city is just 5mins away and 15 on foot.
Situated on the first floor in a small complex of 38, the apartment has easy and direct foot access from the street (up 4 steps). Secure parking is also available for guests with cars (locked gate).
The total space 40sq mtrs.
The park next door has a play-ground and a free BBQ ~ excellent for entertaining friends with little ones and pets.
Interaction with Guests
Generally it's just a hello with key drop-off. We are always available by phone and live close by (site of our other listings) so guests are welcome to pop by for a cuppa.
Great restaurants, interesting shops, parks, public transport and ever so close to the Perth CBD. Ideal if you're in Perth for soccer, rugby or any event at the NIB stadium in East Perth.
Train and bus transport is very close and pretty easy to get familiar with. Umbrellas are provided for the short walks if it rains.
Other Things to Note
NB : Sadly not all residents in the block are as house-proud as us - the less than 5 star cleanliness rate is a comment about the grounds which can look scruffy. Rest assured that The Cheetah Cave is a squeaky clean sanctuary!
No smoking inside. Please take care with the billboard & the wonderfully restored wandoo parquetry floor : )
Really good time in perth, the location is really nice, just few minute walk to the CBD!
The cave is a very nice place to stay in perth and Linda is very nice and flexible.
We definitly will come back there if we have anymore time to spend in perth.
The Cheetah Cave is lovely. It's a perfect location, walking distance from the city and Northbridge as well as sitting on the edge of Mt Lawley which has some fantastic places to eat and drink. The flat itself is clean, quirky and ideal for a couple or individual. You get a whole flat to yourself, the road is quiet as are the neighbours, so it's perfect to unwind. Linda is great if you get chance to have a chat, do so. She's also really good at working around your time schedule if you're flying in. Hard really to say much more than it was perfect for my girlfriend and I. Highly recommend.
Linda was very helpful and was a lovely host. Very easy to get in contact with.
Great clean and tidy place, good location and nice neighbourhood, linda and ian were very helpful when i got locked out they got their son to drop a key off right away! Great experience would stay again!
We didn't get to meet Linda but she left us some milk and biscuits and also instructions on how to find the key. We arrived at 2.30 am so it was excellent to be able to get straight into bed. The Cheetah Cave is conveniently situated for shops and railway station. It is well equipped. The area was fine for us.
This was my second stay at the Cheetah Cave. I love the place. Very central to everything and a nice neighborhood. There is a beautiful park next door which give you the feeling that your living in the forest.
Thanks a gain Linda I look forward to my next stay!!

Hi I'm Linda and I live with my husband Ian, our 18yo son Oli and our golden cocker spaniel Lola on a wonderful patch of Earth in Mt Lawley not far from the Perth CBD.
We love sharing our home of 30 years with visitors and the 'fix rather than replace' motto we've used to decorate and maintain it and our other Airbnb listings. It means they are quirky as well as comfy and all with a low planetary foot-print : ) We're especially love the benches in our kitchen which are crafted from timber milled from a tree we planted over our 29yo son's placenta soon after we moved in.
We also love yoga (bikram and yin), meditation, being resourceful, designing houses, listening to music (most sorts), movies (making & writing them occasionally too!) and karaoke-for-therapy. We are conscious consumers and choose fair trade, socially just, sustainable and organic options as much as we can.
Our 1st experience of Airbnb was in New York in 2012 where we stayed on a heritage-listed ferry boat anchored in New Jersey - the hosts were wonderful and the views from the ferry of the Manhattan skyline were amazing!!!
We love Airbnb because it's contributing to the development of the 'new currency of reputation and trust'. There's a couple of powerful TED talks by Rachel Botsman on 'collaborative consumption' that you might like to check out on Youtube - the most recent one talks about Airbnb.
We have 3 Airbnb listings : a funky room, a self-contained duplex and the Cheetah Cave! Please check them out and if you're interested to book please be in touch with any questions.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon : )
