Fabrice's place was awesome. Secluded. Quiet. Scenic. It has all of the amenities you need for a comfortable stay but is remote enough to get away from it all. It's also close enough to some cool spots that you can party, drink, eat, or do some outdoor sports & sightseeing if you're feeling up to it.
Every morning I would chill on the deck by the pool and watch all of the varieties of birds come and go, as well as watch a family of howlers in the jungle below. The wildlife was unbelievable.
During the days we traveled to different beaches up and down the coast and explored the peninsula.
Fabrice's place served as both a destination and a launching point. We had all the space & privacy we needed while Fabrice & crew made themselves available if we needed anything.
Fabrice has such an amazing place! We had a great time. The views were spectacular, the inside of the house is spacious and has an awesome design.
We chose the option to have a sushi dinner prepared at the house by chef Miho. The sushi was great and we had enough left over for a late night snack. You can't really beat having sushi privately prepared at sunset with those views.
Fabrice was a great host. Very kind and responsive to all emails and phone calls. Same with his brother Alex who also helped us with communicating.
Thank you Alex, Fabrice, and Miho! Hope to visit again.

This was one unforgettable experience.
The house. Spectacular, very well designed, perfect for a family or couples. We spent two days just hanging and watching the view at its gorgeous pool. The kitchen is well equipped. My favorite thing was that it was completely private. The view at night to the stars is insane.
The location. This is perfect if you want to be away from big towns and crowds. We found amazing restaurants, but you have to understand that every beach, restaurant, supermarket is a 15-20 min trip in the car. I don't mind it so it was perfect for us. The beaches like Avellana, Blanca and Junquillal were just all perfect, private and beautiful and clean.
The hosts were absolutely responsive and amazing. We enjoyed the amazing services of their private chef and had sushi and fresh bread. They were very responsive and super cool.
I will absolutely come back for a longer stay next time.
My spouse and I spent six nights at Villa de Shira. Alex responded promptly to all of my emails and we had a wonderful time! It took us about 1-1/4 hours to drive from the Liberia airport to Villa de Shira. The road was paved and in good condition until the last few kilometers. We rented a 4x4, but we probably could have driven to the villa in a 4x2 (although a 4x4 was necessary for some of our day trips). When we arrived, Fabrice met us at the gate. He gave us a tour of the villa and he made sure we had everything we needed. He left some papaya and passion fruit on the counter for us. We pre-ordered sushi from Miho for dinner the first evening. It was delicious and we had enough left over for dinner the next evening too. Villa de Shira had a commanding view of the tree tops and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. The sunsets were amazing! The villa was secluded and private, so we enjoyed the view while comfortably swimming and sunbathing in the nude. Villa de Shira had spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms with large bathrooms and high ceilings. The master bedroom had a sitting area and a huge closet. The kitchen was adequate and it had a bar with stools for four people. There was minimal furniture in the living area, but there was a dining table on the patio along with two adirondack chairs and four lounge chairs. Wifi was available, but there was no television or stereo (which was fine with us). Fabrice asked us what time we wanted Grettell to clean the villa and it was immaculate when we returned from our day trips. We pre-ordered fish burritos from Miho for dinner on the last evening and they were delicious. We wanted complete privacy, so the only time we saw Fabrice and Miho was when we arrived and when we had dinner delivered. The only time we saw Grettell was on the last day when we returned early from our day trip. We drove from the villa to Santa Cruz (about 35 min.); Tamarindo (about 45 min.); Nicoya and Guaitil (about 55 min.); Diria National Park, Barra Honda National Park, and Diria Coffee Tour (about 1-1/4 hrs); Rincon de La Vieja National Park (about 2-1/2 hrs). We drove to Playa Ostional, but the roads were in poor condition and there were numerous river crossings which required a 4x4. The Llanos de Cortez Waterfall was about 30 minutes from the Liberia airport, so we drove there on the first day before we drove to the villa. Each day, we stopped at roadside "sodas" (family-run restaurants) for breakfast and lunch. We enjoyed trying authentic Costa Rican cuisine like gallo pinto for breakfast and casado for lunch. There were no street names in Costa Rica, so a GPS unit was necessary. The exact coordinates of Villa de Shira was: (phone number hidden)
Thank you Fabrice, Miho, Grettell, and Alex!
My boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica for our first time for my birthday and let me say, it was great! We flew in from SJO airport and rented a car and drove to the villa. I will say being our first time, we did get lost (a few times) but Fabrice was very helpful and patient with us and gave clear detailed directions. After a couple of days we totally knew our way around the area. When we arrived Fabrice & Miho greeted us with a fresh picked papaya from the trees out front & warm delicious banana bread! The villa was awesome! It is in a more secluded area on a dirt road but only 15 min away from food/groceries/beaches. The view from the back patio was breathtaking & to top it off with the infinity pool over looking it all. Great way to start my birthday week. We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. There are almost no tourists around, seemed like we were the only ones but everyone everywhere was nice. Tamarindo is only a 25 min drive from the house not bad at all. There was so much nature right on the patio it was pretty cool. The villa didn't have a tv which in our case our computer only hooks up to a tv so we didn't have internet, but if we had a laptop we would have been fine. So wifi is available. Just gave us a better chance to play and watch the nature . We really enjoyed ourselves. We also seen some howler monkeys right by the villa too. Thank you Fabrice, Miho, & Lindsey!
Me and my boyfriend went there for 4 days. Fabrice and his girlfriend provided us with really useful indications to get there as well as some practical tips to get around Costa Rica. The house is located on a hill, away from the lively Tamarindo. The sights are breath taking and If you are looking for a quiet, private place this is the place to go. 20 minutes from Tamarindo and 15 minutes from the most amazing beaches. The area is not that touristic so we had the beach to ourselves. The house has all amenities. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you Fabrice and Lindsey!
