San Carlos, in Bariloche is located on the southern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. The town was established in 1902. However, its importance as tourist hub grew after the 1930s when the national park surrounding it was established. It is well known as the "Honeymoon Capital of Argentina", apart from its fame for its chocolate manufacturing industry.

A lovely stay with a nice view on lake. It's relatively quiet, clean every day and ordered well. Ana is very helpfull and gave us time, advice and hospitality. We recommanded this location.
Summary: We loved the unit except for the noise and heat.
Good location (though very noisy at night)
Ample room for a couple
adequate kitchen area and utensils (note no oven but microwave) good big frig. (Electric 2 burners are very finicky and slow to respond. 6 is high.)
Ana was responsive to initial flurry of emails. she met with us at short notice.
(after arrival I emailed twice, day 1 and 2, using the Air bnb and her private email but did not hear back from her so I suggest u call if need be. I did send an email on our last day about a late check out and I heard back very quickly so the earlier unanswered emails were something of a mystery. )
Ample hot water, good bathroom (but bidet is cold water only. Something of a thrill. Hot seems disconnected. Shower temperature fluctuates)
Large window with good view
Cleaning supplies and one roll of toilet paper were appreciated
Very good Sony tv
Great super mercado about a ten minute walk away where there is a good selection for making nutritious meals
Ana was very good in letting us extend our checkout into the evening since we had a late flight - very quick positive email response on the last day
Very very noisy at night until about four in the morning, weekdays, six in the morning weekends. Both traffic and people. For North Americans and Europeans, whose expectations we are familiar with, this could be a deal breaker. We had seven days without sleep. Worst sleep in three years of travel. Hence this must be considered if u r a light sleeper.
Hot when window was closed. Sometimes very hot. (No fan). Tip: leave hall door open as possible. Ask for a fan.
With no intercom code and only one set of keys we had to juggle schedules and this was not convenient. Had been locked out.
As Ana stated, Internet not one hundred per cent. Could not do Youtube, etc. good for emails when it worked but for several hours or one full day or more there was no internet
Summary: We loved the unit except for the noise and heat.
At about twice the price, ($90US a night for one week, high season) this studio is relatively expensive. But it is a very good alternative to a local hotel room (500 to 550 p ; vacancies were not a problem) on the same street, if you want twice the space and cooking facilities, provided you can sleep through the night and heat, and stable Internet and two keys are not necessary.
Most of the concerns we had could be remedied, possibly even the noise (with heavy drapery). Ear plugs did not work for me. Suggest you enquire if you share our concerns. My reference point here is both as a seasoned traveller and as a landlord.
Really nice apartment with a good view and in walking distance from shops and restaurants.
Ana replies quick to emails and is very friendly and helpful!
El departamento es igual a como se ve en las fotos y la vista es increible. Ademas Ana nos recibio y no tuvo problema en que dejemos el departamento mas tarde ya que nuestro vuelo era a las 19. La verdad muy recomendable.
Ana was friendly enough however there were a couple of negatives. The apartment has no noise insulation at all. It's like you are living in the same room as everyone else. Also the apartment needs plumbing work. Kitchen sink leaks so someone put a container under it instead of fixing it; the bath tub does not drain so you have a bath every time you shower. Worst of all the sheets were dirty and the apt is next to a construction site. So much dirt blew in with the wind that everything had dust all over it. For the price we paid $100 per night for 10 nights I would expect a little more effort.
Many thanks to Anna for her apartment and promptness.
This is a nice small modern apartment in a new building.
5 minutes from the center and all the shops. and two minutes from the bus stops to all commuter locations.
It is generally recommended.
Really nice apartment with a great view on the Lago Nahuel Huapi and the mountains beyond!
Ana's studio was clean, cozy and quite. It's only a 10-15 min walk to the main square. There is a market on the corner and a few good restaurants within 1 block in case you don't want to go all the way down the hill. We loved our stay there!
Ana was very nice and met us upon arrival and was very responsive and accessible when we reached out to her.
The location was ideal, very close to city center and all of the shops.
The place however, was not what I expected. The wifi was awful and we had to go elsewhere to get a good signal, the place did not feel clean, from the walls to the bed, it wasn't kept up well. It wasn't filthy but it definitely wasn't clean. I felt uncomfortable using the comforter, and the walls had dirt marks all over. The building itself was annoying because you needed a keycard to leave which poses a fire hazard. The bathroom toilet seat didn't stay up. The gym was in a basement and none of the equipment really usable. It either didn't work or was very old and not taken care of. The walls were paper thin so we were woken up by a crying baby.
