About this listing
The Laughing Falcon Nature Reserve is a private getaway encompassing 50 acres within Rancho Colibri. There are several mountain hotels in Guanacaste--3 hotels/resorts are just a few miles beyond the ranch, each offering adventure & spa activities.
Staying at the Laughing Falcon Nature Reserve places you in the main ranch house with your own private 50 acres / 20 hectares of forest and hiking trails, including natural pools. Guests have the entire ranch house to themselves--two bedrooms with queen beds and bathrooms, and a large loft with two single beds and private balcony (air mattresses can accommodate 2 additional guests and a crib is available). A large covered deck provides indoor/outdoor living.
Guests have access to entire house, affording a very private setting--the caretaker is the only person you can expect to come into contact with while within the ranch.
Tourist attractions and cattle ranches are nestled amongst the Guanacaste Conservation Area; within 15 minutes we have access to spas and hot springs, zip lines / canopy tours, restaurants and other attractions.
Interaction with Guests
Guests determine the level of interaction with the outside world. Our caretaker will show you around and we can be contacted at our San Jose office by phone.
We're located just under an hour from the Liberia International Airport, 45 minutes from the city of Liberia, and you will drive through the small towns of Canas Dulces and Buena Vista. There are three mountain resorts within 15 minutes, and our guests stay at the ranch to enjoy our private space.
You can be dropped off and just hang out, but most guests prefer to have own transportation--preferably 4-wheel drive to get around and explore.
Other Things to Note
We are off the grid and produce our own power, so we invite our guests to help us conserve energy.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Building the house has been a labor of love, with much of the tropical wood harvested from the property. Our guests come to be surrounded by nature and take care of our environment.
