The space

Cosy apartment in Alcântara, Lisbon, with a beautiful patio. Here you can have meals and enjoy Lisbon’s sun.
This two bedroom apartment, with peaceful colours and full of natural light, offers a unique experience in a peaceful– Alcântara.
It has comfortable and large open space with living area, dining area, and a place to sleep. All these areas are fully opened to a patio with sun loungers and an outside shower. Is has also as outdoor dining area. The garden has aromatic herbs that you can use if you want.
The kitchen is large and fully equipped for cooking and it has a dining area.
Prazeres 29 is located between the two main tourist centres – Belém and Baixa. It has a near, easy and comfortable train, tram and bus connection. It locates 10 minutes walking from Lisbon Congress Center.
In this non gentrified area there are hands full of restaurants in the street where you can taste wonderful Portuguese food. In fact you don´t need to cook at home, you just go across the street and order the meal in Senhor Isidro (Ribeirinha de Alcântara Restaurant). It’s an inexpensive restaurant and they will go to the house with the meal deserts, coffees and the drinks you want.
Another wonderful option is to try a real see-food restaurant. Alcântara is one of the best and popular areas in Lisbon to eat good MARISCO (Portuguese word for see-food).
In front of the house you have a restaurant to experience FADO (typical Portuguese song) while you have the dinner.
There are also Japanese and Nepalese restaurants.
If you prefer to cook you have groceries-stores, a baker, a butcher, and some seven eleven open until mid-night.
The location is also ideal if you decide to go to the beach – Costa de Caparica - on the other side of the river taking the ferryboat – a must do. Taking the train you can also get to Cascais beaches or Guincho beach - perfect for surf lovers!

Girlfriend and I spent three days here. Overall, Francisco was great and the place was beautiful. If you're willing to spend time outside of the city center (which you should), I recommend. Pros: - close to train and other transit - host communicated well, walked us through the…

The photos are not quite accurate as the furniture is shabby and worn. There are appliances yet not all are working and available for instance the fridge and washing machine. Also, small things like the towels were stained and should be replace. The second bedroom is very funky, …

Response from Francisco:
I got unlucky with Lorelyn. Well, I guess that can happen... when someone arrives unhappy and has issues with everything. The issue was not the apartment or myself. Or even a small stain in a towel. When you're two persons and the apartment is set for 4 people, so you can just change towels and there is no need to make a scene because that shouldn't happen but can happen by mistake. Even at our homes. To Lorelyn everything was wrong. Starting with the way one speaks and ending in everything... there is not much to say. I didn't even (for the first time) reviewed Lorelyn. Not publicly or privately. It was just not worth it. And I was right! This review just mirrors Lorelyn's attitude towards everything. All the reviews to this great apartment are the opposite of Lorelyn's review. All of them, every single one!!

Great neighborhood, local feel. It's right on the street so there's some noise at night but we loved the hearing the sounds of the city. Apartment is exactly as pictured with an additional space enclosed outside to hang out and have a glass of wine in the evenings. Only negativ…

Great apartment and great host! Everything was perfect as described and pictured, and Francisco really worked to make us feel as if we had a friend in Lisbon. From me sending annoying texts when I was lost (which he answered graciously to help me find my way) to really superb d…

This place is beautiful. The pictures, while pretty accurate still doesn't live up to it in real life. Spacious, modern, clean and quite sexy to add another adjective. He was more than helpful with places to dine out and his communication was always on time. We arrived earlier t…

We really enjoyed our stay at the Architect's house. It was bright and airy and came as advertised. Even though Alcantara is not quite walking distance to the old city center, it's really easy to get there via the buses that stop every few minutes at the end of the street, and we…

We had a great stay at Francisco's place in Lisbon! He was out of town so not able to greet us but his colleague who is just down the block (and helped design the space) let us into the apartment and made us feel very comfortable. It's a great spot. So light and airy with a w…
