  • A lovely cottage for a great weekend with friends. The cottage is surprisingly spacious, with enough seating and space for easily four adults if not more. Dealing with our host were prompt and good, my only issue what that the directions to the cottage were not very clear. There are a lot of stoney paths and wooded areas that all look the same! A map would have been useful. Also, it doesn't have a huge amount of cooking utensils, enough to do the basics but if you're cooking a lot consider taking some of your own (or check with the host in advance). However the cottage was a lovely space in which to spend time with friends. The private beach is stunningly beautiful - you can gather delicious fresh mussels! We didn't spend much time in the neighbourhood, but we did enjoy a short 2 mile walk to the local bar (The Green Kettle). Highly recommended stay and we are considering returning soon!

  • I was in London with my 10 year old son for a week in May 2014. We stayed at Liyo's and found the room exactly how Liyo and the reviewers described it. If I visit London again I would stay here.

  • We were a group of 5 friends staying at Liyo's cottage in May. All communication with Liyo was very smooth and he provided a detailed explanations on how to find the property on isolated shores of the Loch, as well as the great recommendations of the restaurants in the area. The place was exactly as described and the pictures are very accurate, thus nothing can describe the absolutely stunning views of the lake and hills from the huge windows. The view is reason to come and stay at this cottage. Also I would mention a great idea of the floor plan, this is a one-floor house and the lounge is basically one huge space with big kitchen, two sofas, fireplace and three big windows in the roof from each side. So in the sunny days the whole space has a great light.
The house has no Internet and the cellular connection is also very poor, but the time does really stops when you sit by the fire and watch the lake.
The cottage is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and a dryer, so it's great for a longer stay.
The house is not very easily accessible, cause you have to walk down the hill for about 5 mins from the parking place, this is not a real road, but rather a trail and it gets worth with the rain, so be ready to cary your luggage or any groceries you might need on your shoulders.
When we arrived the house was not really heated, but with the prompt help of the owner we've figured out how to make it really fast, and also we used the fireplace everyday, since may wether in Scotland is a bit chilly and humid.
Overall this is an absolutely perfect place and I would difiantly recommend it, if you are looking for an secluded accommodation on the lakes to relax and really get away from it all. And you can never get enough of those views!

  • We've enjoyed one of the best family evenings in a long time, listening to the fire and admiring a wonderful lake sunset. If you're a nature lover or are simply looking for stunning outdoors with no distractions, this is the perfect place for it.

  • The location of the flat is fantastic, the host incredible chatty, helpful and ready to provide you with handy info. While the rooms vary in size, they are all clean and no more or less than what you need to sleep. Just around the corner are wonderful cafes, so should you arrive early, have time to kill or are an early riser, great places are around. Despite being located just opposite the children's hospital, I found the flat relatively calm and relaxing. After all, one is in London... Thanks Liyo!

Scottish guy originally from Edinburgh but have traveled a fair bit all over for work and pleasure. Been to lots of amazing places but so many more to discover so am doing my best to see as much of our great planet as possible. Like to keep active both mentally and physically and crave new challenges. Avid sports fan and played tennis and hockey competitively. I would consider myself a relaxed easy going guy looking to meet other chilled people who love travel, appreciate good food and great human company. Any questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers.
