We had a lovely time at Lucia's spacious, high-ceilinged flat. We travelled with our 5 month old baby and she supplied us with a baby cot. The elevator also made it easy to enter and exit the flat with a baby stroller. The best was its location, right across from the Accademia, and close to everything. Recommended!
This apartment was amazing in its vast size, tasteful decor, and incredibly central location in Florence. For the price, I can't imagine a better place to spend a romantic getaway in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy.
Lucia was a great host: polite, easy and prompt communications, and she kindly gave us some excellent dinner recommendations (namely, La Pentola for homemade pasta and Tuscan beef, and a cafe above the shopping mall for a morning cappuccino and an amazing 5th-floor view of the Duomo).
The apartment was immaculate and gorgeous, beautifully decorated and HUGE with amazing high ceilings, tons of room in the bedroom and common spaces, a tub and PLENTY of hot water, as well as ample closet space. There was a washing machine and a nifty little drying rack that worked very well for a load of laundry.
When you open the living room windows, you can definitely hear the activity of tourists lined up to see the David at the Galleria dell'Accademia across the street, but all the noise is drowned out once the windows are closed.
Speaking of the David, the apartment is extremely convenient to other attractions in the city (about a three- to ten-minute walk), including the Duomo, Campanile, the Baptistry, the Uffizi, and the Ponte Vecchio. It's also not a long walk to venture south of the bridge to less crowded neighborhoods like Santo Spirito and San Nicolo.
The bed is perfect for sleepers who prefer firm beds: comfortable, with clean, soft linens.
Overall, this apartment is highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, luxurious, but affordable stay in Florence. We'll be back as soon as we can!
We would stay here again and would recommend it to others. The apartment is as pictured, nice and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple meals. The bed is firm and comfortable. Sheets and towels were provided and are of good quality. The noise from the street is there but we closed the door to the living room and the bedroom door and it was not a problem.
Lucia was very flexible-met us earlier than previously planned.
One word of warning-the tub/shower is awkward and potentially unsafe for those who are unsteady or with limited mobility.
The apartment was in a wonderful location, fully equipped and very clean. Lucia is very nice and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this to others.
Lucia is a nice lady and it was great pleasure meeting her. Her apartment is big with tall ceiling but homely.
Although it is conveniently located across the Accademia, the chatters of the morning queue could not be heard in the bedroom.
The only downside may be the slight problem with mosquitoes and the throttling of the water temperature while bathing as it may get rather hot.
Thank you Lucia!
Great place to stay in Florence. Large rooms. Very little street traffic. Thanks Lucia for your extra help when we were leaving. Ken
The house is so good, big and (website hidden)'s very near to the railway station,Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore and Galleria dell'Accademia.you can also just walk to any other scenic spot.
Lucia is very nice and friendly, thanks a lot to her :)
Of my two weeks in Europe Lucia's apt across Gallerie L'Academie was the most enjoyable to stay in. She was very kind and helpful and we were able to use her washing machine and cooked a pasta dinner there. It is a beautiful place in one of my favorite cities and I give her my highest recommendation. It is within walking distance to everything and we didn't need to take a taxi once. It can get a little noisy with everyone queuing to see Michealangelo's David across the street, but it's worth it.
A beautiful dwelling in a beautiful location in a beautiful city. Everything is exactly as expected, clean with great decor and a lovely host.
The flat is located on a perfect area, right in front of the Academia, fully equiped and very comfortable. Lucia was a great host and made our stay easier. Fully recommended!
