About this listing
Enjoy everything Marin has to offer right out the front door! Shops, restaurants, downtown, and Mt. Tam hiking all within a short walk. Located on Sycamore Ave, our remodeled and upgraded charming, historic home has all of the modern luxuries.
Enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine under the redwoods on the expansive entertaining deck. Brand new kitchen, upgraded appliances, and gas grill on the back deck for your cooking needs.
I love the details of the small things and really love sharing my cozy and comfortable space with guests from around the world.
This is more of a traditional B&B experience in a home where we live. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared (but primary use) of the upstair floor including living room, kitchen, back deck and yard, and of course you will have private use of the master bedroom and en suite bath.
Let my home be your home away from home!
Interaction with Guests
I travel often but when I am in town I love hosting and meeting new people! Even if I am on the road, my housemate Natra (though she works very long hours and you will most likely not see her either) will be there to assist you if need be.
My historic neighborhood of Tamalpais/Sycamore Park is lined with beautiful Sycamore Trees (I have the oldest in the neighborhood right out front!) The streets are flat and everything is within a short walk from the house.
Bus to San Francisco is 2 blocks away
Other Things to Note
Living in the middle of town has it's advantages (walk to EVERYTHING!) but there is a bit of street noise during the day. I have a white machines for sound blackout curtains for guest use if you are sensitive to noise.
This is a shared living situation so please be respectful. That being said, late arrivals are not a problem. There is a door code, no key, so self check in is easy.
Drea was an incredibly welcoming host. Her home was beautiful and a very comfortable place for my husband and I to stay. No detail was left out, even down to extra toothpaste in the bathroom. It was the perfect balance of relaxing in a cabin but then having access to downtown Mill Valley only a couple of minutes away. We travel to the SF area frequently and definitely would stay here again!
Drea was there for us every step of the way and even though she was out of town, she kept in constant touch with us. We knew all the house rules before we got there and had a nice print out waiting to refresh our memories. We met her housemate Natra who was very pleasant and suggested a couple local restaurants for us. We drove down on Highway One before our arrival and did not have cell service or know when we would arrive but Drea spoke to us when we arrived. She is a gracious host and the neighborhood is very inviting. We loved staying at her home and the use of the shared spaces and kitchen was an added bonus. We walked to a local restaurant for dinner and stocked up at the Whole Foods for our hike in Muir Woods the next day which is just a few minutes away. I would highly recommend renting her home if you are planning on a visit to the woods. The next night we took a short drive into Sausalito for dinner. Drea has Apple TV and wi-fi but if you are looking for local cable channels, that isn't available. Parking is convenient in the shared spaces out front. Amenities are perfect. Drea, thanks for the comfortable stay in your home.
What a beautiful home! Perhaps the most idyllic AirBnB we have stayed in - the back deck was excellent for relaxing after hiking. And in an excellent location to boot. Just 15 minutes to Muir Woods, less than 10 to delicious restaurants and cute shops in downtown Mill Valley and 20-30 to SF across the GG Bridge. Keep up the great work, and thanks!
Drea's place was perfect for us. We came to California from Pennsylvania for a two-week vacation, and this was our first stop. Though our plane landed late in the day (almost 6:00 pm) in San Francisco, we were able nonetheless to pick up our rental car and still get out of the city and to Drea's place in time for a leisurely dinner at a nearby restaurant. The accommodations were ideal--clean and comfortable, quiet and cozy. We wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the inviting deck and peaceful back yard. Drea was a delightful host--helpful and accommodating in every way. Next time we come to northern California, this will be our first stop again.
lovely house very clean and nice decoration
This was a fine room for the night. Drea was kind in accommodating us on very short notice and making sure it could be ready for us and the next guest. The location is good.
I am a frequent AirBnB user and staying in Drea's house was the best AirBnB experience I've had. The house is just beautifully renovated and decorated and has a European/Californian fusion feel. I felt at home!
