Villa Várzea is a centenary property located on a very picturesque village of São Miguel island. The Villa is just one minute off the main road that circles all the island. From here you are at a ten minute drive from all of the natural attractions of Sete Cidades; Mosteiros sunsets and beach life; and a walk away from Ferraria natural thermal pool. Here our guests find themselves brought back in time, engaged with nature, woken up by bird chants and immersed in the genuine Azorean spirit.

The space
Nomad Nest is located on the remodeled old horse stable of the Villa. On this building there are also 2 other Nests (Hiker Nest and Design Nest). On the Villa you also find the Grand House where you find the Garden Nest.

When you arrive you can park in our private parking, and self check-in anytime after 4PM on the Nomad Nest, no worries about arriving late hours. Check-out is until 11AM.

The Nomad Nest has a its own private entrance and is a composed by two floors:

On the ground floor you will find an open space with an eating area and an equipped kitchen. Appliances you find in the kitchen: refrigerator and freezer, oven and stove, coffee machine, toaster, microwave; kettle.

The open stairs take you to the first floor. This floor is also an open space composed by a bedroom with a double bed or 2 singles (please let me know your preference when you book), a working area and a bathroom with shower. On this floor you will also find a balcony with a beautiful view over the green mountain and a flat screen with international channels. Air condition keeps the bedroom fresh in summer and warm in winter.

This Nest is perfect for two people. Nevertheless one extra guest may be accommodated on the open sofa (1x2m), and it has an extra cost that you can see if you add 3 guests on your reservation.

Outside you have a little terrace with chairs, facing a beautiful quite garden; you can use our barbecue area for free;

We have a crib and high chair for baby available under request.

Várzea is a little village barely touched by the modern life pace. It is located right off the main road that circles the island, making it really easy to access it. Surrounding the house you will find the typical landscapes of the western part of the island: green mountains, old wind mills, cows passing by and local people on their daily routines.

This western part of the island is truly special and famous for many reasons:
With a car you are at a 5-10 minutes distance from the Sete Cidades lagoons and the fishing village of Mosteiros were you can take Whale Watching tours and bath on the darkest sand beach of the island; and at a 5 minute ride from the thermal pool of Ferraria. Renting a car/scooter is the easiest way to get to all of these wonders. If you can´t rent a car/scooter there is a bus stop on the village with daily buses to Sete Cidades, Mosteiros and Ponta Delgada. Just keep in mind public buses don´t run very often and they don´t take you to most viewpoints and hiking trails. Some of my guests that love hiking don´t mind getting to these places on foot. I always suggest them to bring the right mindset for the unpredictable weather on the island, it´s a big part of the Azorean mystic!
