Raspberry Cottage has a 17th century Scandinavian log style with a newly renovated interior, library, free berry and orchard picking, and a hiking path on 150 acres. Proximity to puffin tours, fishing, golf, the Cabot Trail, the Nfld ferry, cultural experiences, and on the way to PEI. Wifi, tv, coffee beans, tea, charcoal and propane grills, and logs for an outdoor fire circle are included. 4 star rated by Canada Select. Leaving the cottage empty for 3 days between bookings for guest health.

Raspberry Cottage (Registration # RYA2020-000067) is located in the heart of Cape Breton Island in the middle convenient to sightseeing in all directions on a UNESCO biosphere reserve with a water view of the Bras d'Or, part of the Atlantic Ocean. Cape Breton Island was voted the 1st Best Island in Canada in 2018 and 2019 and the 8th Best Island in the World by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.
Raspberry Cottage is 1,300 square feet, sleeps eight, has four bedrooms, and sits in a clearing on 50 acres of forested land on a UNESCO World Heritage bioreserve, with a spring fed stream.
Just 45 minutes from the Sydney, Nova Scotia, airport, Raspberry Cottage is seated on a UNESCO World Heritage biosphere reserve with a water view of the Bras d'Or, part of the Atlantic Ocean.
Raspberry Cottage is remote enough for guests to spot small forest wildlife, such as rabbits, as well as to experience country life with a pear, apple, and cherry tree orchard, concord grape vines, and raspberry fields. There is a fire circle where guests can enjoy toasting marshmallows while looking at the stars. Logs for this fire circle are complimentary. A guided nature tour with a local is available upon request.
The cottage is about thirty-five minutes away from the village of Baddeck, Nova Scotia, which offers Regatta Week, sailing, kayaking, and the Alexander Graham Bell museum. Puffin tours are just twenty to thirty minutes away. Pictou, where the Prince Edward Island ferry arrives and departs, is just three hours away. The ferry to Newfoundland is just thirty minutes away. The Cabot Trail is about twenty-five minutes away. Day trips are also possible for a variety of attractions, such as Cabot Links for golf or an intimate dinner, Glenora whiskey distillery, Mabou farmer's market, Inverness, Chéticamp, and the Fortress of Louisbourg.
There is a private gate at the start of the gravel road to Raspberry Cottage. Raspberry Cottage is surrounded by a clearing shielded with fir, spruce, and pine trees. Behind the cottage is about 150 acres total of private, rolling woodland supported by a spring-fed stream. A private road through the forest can be explored with your guests or with a local guide. The cottage is furnished with items from all over the world.

Guest access
Guests can access the entire cottage. All the closets are empty and ready with hangers and luggage racks. The property also has a horse barn and external garage, both of which are closed to guests at the present time, but which may be open in the future.

Accessibility: The downstairs living area and half bathroom of Raspberry Cottage is accessible without taking any stairs. One bedroom is located downstairs and features beds that can covert to two Twin size beds or one Queen size bed. Please note that while a washroom is downstairs, the only shower/ bathtub is upstairs.
Housekeeping: Please note that deep clean housekeeping is once a week, when sheets will be laundered and changed. Please note that there is a washer and dryer in the home for sheets, towels, and clothing that guests are welcome to use in between housekeeping services.
Toys are available for the use of all guests; these toys are disinfected and are meant to stay at Raspberry Cottage for other guests who may need them.
Taxes: Please note that the 15% GST Nova Scotia provincial tax is included in the cost of each booking. Guests do not need to make any additional payments.
Waiver: By accepting this booking, guests are accepting the risk and liability of the use of the cottage and the surrounding grounds, as well as agreeing to caution and responsibility in their use. Guests are also stating that they understand that the cottage is in the country side surrounded by woods by accepting this booking.

The village of Baddeck is approximately 30 minutes away, and it offers golf, sailing, the Alexander Bell Museum, and restaurants. The Cabot Trail is just 20 minutes away, and other attractions are about an hour away in either direction. There is so much to do on the property as well that it is difficult to leave! Enjoy fishing, as the use of fishing rods is included, as well as raspberry, apple, and golden plum picking.
