I have 3 beautiful bedrooms available in a 4 bedroom apartment in trendy and charming Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you're interested, please contact me even if the calendar shows as booked.
Just 4 blocks from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L line (a mere 5 minutes from Manhattan), the location can’t be beat. What’s more, this neighborhood has been featured as one of the new spots to visit while in New York City. There are plenty of boutiques, small businesses and art galleries as well as delicious restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Plus two parks, one with a variety of activities and a weekly green market, and the other with a beautiful view of the East River and the Manhattan skyline.
Speaking of which, the rooftop in the building is equipped with a deck, chairs and even grills… and another postcard view of the Manhattan skyline.
Bright and spacious, this private bedroom is the perfect place to stop for a few days. Whether you want to relax or go out to the city, you will have an inviting place to come back to at the end of the day.
The bedroom is furnished with a bed, a small night table, and a built-in closet and has a bit of extra room for anything else you might want to bring.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge and a new stove, and you’re welcome to make use of them anytime. A variety of teas are available.
The bathroom is spacious, has tons of storage and a full bath tub for those cold days in which you need to thaw out with a bath. The showerhead has 6 different settings for a spa-like experience. Towels, and natural hygiene products (shampoo, body wash and conditioner) are included in your rate.
The large living room is bathed in light from huge windows. There is a lending library that you’re invited to make use of.
Wireless internet is secure, and there is free laundry in the building. All of this is included in your rate as well.
From time to time, there will be workshops on spirituality, yoga, food, art, massage and other interesting subjects held in the living room. You're welcome to participate as part of your stay in this oasis in the middle of bustling NYC. Healing, Massage, and Life Coaching sessions are also available at an additional cost.
Lastly, yes, I live here as well and am available to answer questions and guide you during your visit.
-All towels and linens
-Free and secure wifi
-Free laundry in the building
-Use of kitchen
-Spacious private bedroom
-Free participation in workshops and events
I want my guests to feel at home, so please feel free to keep stuff in the fridge, cook in the kitchen, chill in the living room, or take a relaxing bath. You'll also have access to free laundry in the building, as well as a fabulous rooftop with a breathtaking view of the Empire State building and the midtown Manhattan skyline.
Please note: while there is an elevator, please ask me before using it as it requires specific instructions.
Interaction with Guests
This is where I live, and I like it to feel homey. That means I enjoy interacting with my guests, making them feel at home and sometimes hanging out or going to brunch together. Not a requirement, but it's nice to connect with the people you're sharing your living space with!
Also, I'm always available to answer questions about the neighborhood, restaurants, things to do, etc.
Our location can't be beat! We are located in one of the best neighborhoods, and one of the best parts of the neighborhood.
It's actually really hard to go to a restaurant that serves mediocre food around here. Cafe Mogador, Sweetwater, Egg, 5 Leaves, Sea, Chai Thai, El Almacen are a few of my favorite.
There's so many gourmet coffee shops with ridiculously good coffee that it's hard to decide which one to go to sometimes. And Bakeri, a European style coffee shop and bakery is less than a block away and so good! Guests often like to grab their continental breakfast there (and so do I!).
Designer boutiques with interesting and fun clothes and gifts abound, and health food stores stay open until midnight so you can have a fresh young coconut or fresh-pressed green juice on your way home from dinner.
Plus, we are a block away from the East River State Park, which hosts the Brooklyn Flea market and Smorgasburg, two awesome not-to-be-missed attractions that tourists and locals from all over the city come for.
We're also 5 blocks from McCarren park, with its track field, tennis courts, and the farmers' market on Saturdays.
This neighborhood feels homey and like a small town with small businesses that have tons of character. The people-watching is fantastic, and it has a laid-back vibe… yet we're only 5 minutes from Union Square in Manhattan!
The Bedford Avenue stop on the L line is only 4 blocks from the apartment, and it will take you into Manhattan within 5 minutes. Pretty much anything you would want to go to is 15-20 minutes away.
Off-street parking is available, though you'd have to make sure to move your car to the right side of the street every couple of days to avoid tickets.
Directions from JFK:
To get here, the cheapest way would be to take the subway.
1) Take the AirTrain to Howard Beach station
2) Take the A train towards Manhattan.
3) Get off at Broadway Junction and transfer to the L train towards Manhattan
4) Get off at the Bedford Avenue station (the last station before Manhattan)
5) Walk 2 blocks north to N 9 Street
6) Make a left on N 9 Street and walk 2 more blocks
The trip normally takes about 1 1/2 hours, and it cost $7 per person..
For the fastest way, take a taxi, which is usually about $35-40.
Lastly, the medium option is to take a door-to-door airport shuttle, which I believe is about $15 per person (but I've never taken it so I don't really know).
This is a safe space for fun, exploration and transformation. Please take advantage and feel free to be yourself. The only restrictions are as follows:
No smoking or pets are allowed. Also, being a sacred space, we ask that you remove your shoes at the door. Use of the kitchen is free, but please be respectful and clean up after yourself.
Enjoy your stay!
Melody was a very thoughtful, friendly and kind hostess. The room is very spacious and full of light with tall windows, in an amazing location in the heart of Williamsburg.
The room was marvellously decorated and very spacious. The residence is a mere 3-minute walk to the metro station, and a 10-minute ride therefrom to Manhattan. It's also a short walk to the shore of the East River, where we had an incredible view of the Manhattan skyline and sunset on New Year's Eve, and there are a lot of wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants very nearby in Williamsburg too. It's a great location to be in.
Location is super-awesome. It's on a quiet block, but there's also so many fun things nearby. Want to get an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline? Head to the rooftop bar at the Wythe Hotel (4 blocks away). Want to dance your butt off to some really amazing DJs? Head to Output (3 blocks away). Want a fancy steak dinner in a casual environment without paying and arm and a leg? Head to El Almacén (5 blocks away). Want to meet a friend for a unique brunch at a cute Japanese cafe? Head to House of Small Wonder (3 blocks away).
Besides that, what really made the experience was how welcoming Melody's home felt. With people coming and going, it felt a bit like a hostel, but without the cramped feeling you normally get from having to live in close quarters with others. Melody herself is a really warm person, and she also tends to attract awesome, open-minded folks from all over the place.
The room itself really is BRIGHT. So hopefully you're a morning person. If you're not, bring a sleeping mask and you'll be totally fine. Furnishings in the room are basic, but totally adequate, and there's a coin-less (as in free!) washer/dryer for everyone on that floor to use. There's one shared bathroom in the apartment, but we didn't experience bathroom traffic jams too often.
I stayed there for 5 nights with my girlfriend. The room is fine and the place is located just a 5 minutes walk from bedford av station and very close to a lot of cool bars, cafés and restaurants. If you plan to stay at williamsburg, i'd recommend this place.
The apartment is great located - Quiet and close to great bars and cafes plus L line with a great connection to Manhattan. The apartment and room were clean and even though there were two other people living and the host herself, there was never a problem with the bathroom.
A highlight is the rooftop, no luxury up there :), but it is great to chill out there and to have a great view on Manhattan if the weather allows.
