I had a great experience staying with Robert. He is very welcoming and spent a great deal of time when I arrived helping me get acquainted with the area. Additionally, the room I stayed in was very large and comfortable. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous, as you can clearly tell from all the pictures. The house is also very conveniently located, so long as you don't mind walking a bit (perhaps half a mile or so) to get to the best restaurants and bars in the area. I found it very easy to get around and enjoy Savannah and I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay with Rob.
Robert was incredibly friendly, (email hidden) to the city - when we first got there he had a map already out, to give us a brief overview of the city and his restaurant recommendations. He also had a mini fridge in the room stocked with cold water for us. The room is in a beautiful historic house in a fabulous location, just a short walk to downtown. Very safe area.
My friend and I had a lovely stay with Robert. His house is in the historic district and is about a 10 minute walk from downtown. The walk goes quickly, though, with lots of cute shops, town squares, and coffee shops along the way. Knowing it was our first time visiting Savannah, Robert was happy to provide us with suggestions for places to go and things to see – he even packed a beach bag for us with sunscreen, towels, and chairs on the day he knew we’d be going to be the beach (Tybee Island)! Coming and going was easy, and Robert was more than accommodating throughout the weekend. Only two slight downsides to the stay: 1.) the house did smell a bit like smoke in some areas (though not in our room) and 2.) our bathroom had a slight plumbing problem, which Robert was fast to fix. Overall, we had a great time and would happily stay there again!
Robert was a great host. When we arrived he was waiting for us on the awesome porch; after showing us our room he gave us our first "virtual' tour of Savannah, showing us the map and pointing out relevant places and restaurants, transportation etc. He even went out of his way to find us the menu for a breakfast place we asked about.
the room is as described in the pictures, pretty spacious and clean. Private bathroom is just outside and is also very clean.
The house is quite close to Forsyth Park and to a "dot" stop (free bus service to go downtown). Anyway the walk from Robert's house to downtown is not very long and is quite pleasant (with all the parks).
My favorite part of the house was the porch were we could hang out for a while: as an added bonus, the super-cute house cat usually hangs out there waiting for someone to stop by and pet her (we gladly complied and won her friendship....by the end of our stay she would come and great us on the street when we arrived home).
Robert's airbnb is about as good as it gets in savannah, he's got a lot of opinions and a lot of knowledge about the town and the area. We found his suggestions to be spot-on.
The apartment is a great value, especially considering the location. The house is a bit dated, but quite beautiful. Overall, we liked it a lot, and haven't seen anything in savannah with the same mixture of location and value
Robert greeted me with a warm smile and an armful of maps and brochures for my 2 days in Savannah. I had a lovely time in their beautiful home. The room was spacious, charming, and soothing. I slept more soundly than I have in ages. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay in Savannah. It was our first time in Savannah and Robert was an excellent host, he was there to greet us and gave us great recommendations on what to see and do and where to eat. We hope to be back!
Thank you so much Robert and Andrea for being such wonderful hosts! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Savannah. The house and porch are beautiful and we loved being able to walk everywhere. It was also a quick 30 min to Tybee where we spent an afternoon on the beach. Robert had excellent recommendations which we were very thankful for. Really a pleasure meeting them.
