Gorgeous home close to everything really sums up this charming and comfortable home. Everything was provided to make our two week stay in this lovely neighbourhood a complete pleasure. John kept in very good communication with us, and any requests, such as for an iron, were promptly responded to. The house was lovely and warm with comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Fresh coffee beans and a welcome bottle of wine were provided. Thank you John, we hope to see you again.
John and his Portland home were terrific! My parents, my children, and I stayed in one side of the duplex, and my brother and his fiancée stayed in the adjoining duplex, also owned by John. John is the consummate host: professional, friendly, helpful and respectful. We could walk to restaurants, but also do our own cooking. The beds were comfortable too. Thank you, John, for a great visit!
Four women stayed here for a much needed girls' weekend away. The house is exactly as advertised. It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood very close to shopping, dining, a wildlife refuge and buslines. No transfer needed to get across the water to the downtown Saturday market near Portland State. From there, easy walking, Max train or bus to pretty much anywhere.
We didn't cook, but there was an assortment of pots & pans and dishes--even a crockpot.
What few questions we had were answered immediately, and we had a wonderful weekend.
Great location and great place! John is so friendly and responsive. The only very slight issue we had was that this is a 4-plex and we had some noisy neighbors a couple of nights. But, we asked them to ne a bit quieter and they did. We will stay again when we come to visit "our" neighborhood.
John was a great host and the house was lovely. John was responsive to our needs; there was a small logistical issue on his end at the beginning of the trip that he was very professional about. The house was as described and very comfortable, I would recommend it to anyone.
The house was very clean and nice. It was a great place to stay and a great experience.
Great house, great area, close to everything! Would stay here again!!
Was snowing whilst we were in town, called John for a shovel he brought it over. We all had a great time! Would recommend this beautiful place to everyone!
Had a great time at John's place. Spacious, clean, and in a fun neighborhood where everything is walkable. Quiet area. It was perfect for what we needed.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John's house. It was easy to find and the location was great, just 10 minutes from downtown by car. The home was very nice and comfortably slept 7 of us. Portland was a really fun city to visit and we plan on returning again soon!
The house is lovely, big and in the traditional style. There are some good cafes etc in the area and it's easy to get to and from the house. John is very quick to communicate with and accommodating. The only thing to mention is the kitchen isn't well stocked we didn't have enough coffee cups or glasses or forks etc. But when we asked for more John provided them quickly. Also the heating was difficult to reset as it came on very hot in the middle of the night. (Just a warning to check it before you go to bed). Other than that, very spacious and nice place.
