  • ~ A perfect place to rest and rejuvenate, after wandering Istanbul. Especially we liked the vast view, and the fabulous food (& pomegranate juice) and good company in the restaurant below. A lovely space and excellent location. "Home" indeed for three fabulous days and nights. ~

  • Had a phenomenal stay in Istanbul at this property. The view was amazing, amenities comfortable and clean, and access to the tram literally could not have been better. Only issues were that the toilet stopped working one evening but a quick call got that fixed promptly; similarly there was no bathroom tissue (unless I couldn't find it). The restaurant downstairs is nice and convenient, and there are small shops and restaurants on the very busy street below. If I were on a similar budget and return to Istanbul, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • The apartment was really nice and we had a great stay. The breakfast in Ali Baba was extremely delicious and an unexpected plus. We just had some trouble closing the balcony door (we couldn't ) and the showerhead fell off. But these things can be easily fixed. There was good communication before we arrived and it was easy to pick up and drop off the key (at Ali Baba).

  • Bel appartement, très bien situé (à 3 station de tramway du centre). accueil très bien de la part du restaurant en bas. Idéal pour visiter la ville.

  • We loved Istanbul, and we loved this apartment! It is spacious, has a spectacular view from the bedroom (seriously - spectacular!), and Bulent from Ali Baba downtairs is very nice and helpful. Also, transportation is extremely close - right across the street. I only wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful city. Thanks again!

  • This is a great location & a beautiful apartment. It is close to all the major sites on a quick tram ride but far enough outside the 'tourist bubble' to feel you are among locals. The hosts were attentive and quick to solve any issues (eg there was a little hiccup with the wi-fi but the host got back to me immediately & problem solved right away). I would recommend this place.

  • Unfortunately right from the beginning this apartment was a disappointment. I chose the apartment for the balcony to sit on and I guess my purpose for travelling was different to the majority of other travellers - I wanted to relax moreso, and visit friends locally, rather than sight see which means comfort was of importance. For the positives I can say: the breeze and the view in the bedroom; the comfortable bed; Bulent the guy in the restaurant below always willing to assist (knowing a bit of Turkish was of help to me); the location is good as it is right near the main tram line and about 5 stops to Sultanahmet. The downsides far outweighed the positives. On day 1 the assistant contact number that I had been given had her mobile phone closed. It was hot - we just wanted to find out where Golden Horn Restaurant was (the name I had been given on paper but it turned out to be called Ali Baba restaurant). The door to the balcony is very heavy to lift (not good for a small woman like myself) and was broken so not even my good friend who is a big man was easily able to open and close it (this stopped me predominantly from using the balcony which I had booked the place for). Mehmet the owner came to visit and agreed it needed attention but within my 3 day stay it was not possible for him to get anyone albeit he tried. The tap on the bathroom basin was not secured to the basin and was flopping back and forwards. There was no toilet paper, no rubbish bin liners, some light bulbs out in places and the place didn't seem very clean, especially the floors which left dust all over my feet if I didn't use shoes. There was no key to the small back door balcony so it was never locked ("not a problem I was told" but really when you are paying to have your stuff secured was not good enough). The stuff in the kitchen was old (I had to hunt around to find things and the sugar cubes for a cup of tea had all bits of brown stuff in the old container). The washing machine had all this stuff in front of it - there are no instructions for using electrical things which are very different to other countries (including the TV). I hand washed the clothes but the clolthes rack to dry things on sitting alongside the washing machine in the cluttered cupboard was old and rusted so I didn't even bother. The bath tub whilst it looks fancy is not practical to use as there is no where to hang the nozzle so you that you can stand and turn it into a shower (you do everything by 1 hand and basically have to sit inside it if you don't want water all over the old tiled floor). If you are a bigger...

  • We had very good days in Istambul ! People was very nice with us. Our apartment was well located not far away from the center, we have some space and we like the calm after a noisy day ! Then, the people in the restaurant downstairs was so friendly and they help us when we need something. So if I have to summarize it was a good experience for all points !! We make recommendation for that trip

  • Nice and clean apartment as described. The most amazing breeze in the bedroom if you open the outside balcony door too.

Very easy access to the tram and Historia mall behind the building. The owner of Ali Baba restaurant below, Belunt, is an amazing asset to the apartment as he is a very sweet man who gave great advice and recommendations on where to go and how to get there. The real estate agency downstairs next to Ali Baba (Mr. Masoud) was extremely helpful too!

Downside is Mehmet himself (we never saw him) and his assistant as they weren't very helpful in anything once we arrived, and were quite hard to get a hold of. The WiFi only worked for 1 week of the 4 weeks we were there.

I would still rent the same apartment again, not because of the host, but because it is clean and convenient and Belunt and Mr. Masoud are wonderful!
