In real estate, the top 3 things they tell you to look for is location, location, location... Well, this single-family, 3-story town house definitely has a great location. It is conveniently located in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn, on a quiet, safe block, just 5 blocks from the Barclay Center and 11 subway lines, including the Long Island Rail Road, which makes getting to JFK Airport super easy with a connection at the Jamaica LIRR Station to the AirTrain. The commute is about 30 minutes. There are 3 additional train lines just a few more blocks away.
Located just off Park Slope's vibrant 5th Avenue retail and dining corridor, this house that sleeps 11, offers a quiet oasis in one of New York's best neighborhoods.
On the top floor, is a master bedroom suite with a 12'x14' private lounge that contains an ornamental fireplace, which contains a queen sofa-sleeper with a 5-inch deluxe mattress, a 13'x14' master bedroom with 11' ceiling and an ornamental fireplace, a luxurious queen size pillow-top mattress, and a writing desk, a very comfortable leather arm chair, and a bathroom with 10' ceiling and an air-jet, deep, extra-long bathtub.
On the parlor floor, there is an art gallery, 22' x 13", that contains an ornamental fireplace, a queen sleeper with a 5" deluxe mattress, a sitting area, and a private, spacious bedroom, 12'x14', with an ornamental fireplace, a firm queen size bed, bookcase, writing desk and a comfortable arm chair.
On the garden floor, there is a spacious open-concept gourmet kitchen, 12'x30' with high-end appliances, marble floor, custom cabinets, dining area with an ornamental fireplace, a separate lounge, 13'x15', and well shaded outdoor space. The lounge contains a twin size day bed and a queen size sofa-sleeper.
All exotic hardwood floors and staircases, marble bathrooms, Pella triple-pane windows, fully renovated in 2008.
The homeowner is a licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide and is always happy to help guest with their itinerary and suggestions for local restaurants and sights.
Area attractions: Barclays Center, Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Zoo, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Academy of Music, BRIC Art, Blue Ribbon Grill, Dinosaur BBQ, etc.
3 Day minimum for all bookings. Maximum stay is 14 days.
A double stroller, 2 Pack-N-Plays, a walker and toys for toddlers are available upon request.
Everything but the basement. Wine rack and pantry is also excluded.
Interaction with guests
Very little, unless I need to get into the basement, which is very rare. I travel often and if the house is available, it's probably because I am away on business.
I've lived on the block for the last 43 years and I'm happy to say that the neighborhood has improved dramatically over the years. There are many interesting places to visit, shop and eat at just in walking distance.
We have 11 train lines just blocks away, including the L.I.R.R., which can get you to JFK Airport in about 40 minutes for less than $15. You can get here from Newark Airport via public transportation, but LaGuardia Airport is best by cab.

For local car service: Arecibo Car Service. They have competitive prices and have drivers stationed at the local airports. They have a website with their fees. Best for groups of 3 or more.

For those interested in shopping, there are amazing thrift shops in walking distance. For example, I have seen and purchased designer shoes & boots with retail price of $400 to $1,200 for as little as $40 on multiple occasions. I have purchased designer cocktail dresses for as little as $20 and evening gowns that retailed as high as $4,000 for as little as $250. Furniture shopping can be an adventure too. I follow AirBnB's Suggested Market Pricing, which can change daily and can project up to 120 days out. I will consider all offers within 30 days, contingent on availability. Once you are confirmed, I will not cancel for another reservation, unless there are serious unforeseen circumstances, like if a pipe burst.
Regular check-in time is 11:00am and regular check-out time is 3:00pm. If there is no one staying before or after you, then early check-in or late check-out are not issues, but please ask in advance.
This is a very family-oriented neighborhood and many of the local children are home schooled. Please keep noise level to a minimum, especially in the back yard. We ask that outdoor festivities end at 9pm Sunday thru Thursday and by 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Proper recycling is very much appreciated and request that there be no smoking of any kind anywhere in the house, or on the premises.
Please keep the shades to the garden floor front window closed. It becomes a security concern if the shades are open since it faces the street. It is a safe neighborhood, but you just never know stranger's intentions.
The security gate is to be locked at all times.
