We couldn't have enjoyed our trip more. The house was perfectly located near all of the places we wanted to see and Sharon and her family were so friendly and helpful. We will for sure stay here again when we visit. The house had everything we needed and it was very peaceful.
Sharon's place is clean and tidy, has everything we need (2 bed/2 bath/ full kitchen), and very reasonably priced. Close to all attractions near Hilo. Sharon is a great host, she sent us local attraction updates, including the awesome farmers market nearby and "secret" ways of viewing lava near pahoa. Overal a great experience and will/already recommended to friends visiting Big island
We just needed a place to stay for the weekend for a wedding. Traveling with a 6 month old baby isn't easy. However, we felt right at home. The place was clean and was conveniently close to our destination. Sharon was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed.
We loved this place! Sharon was very friendly and helpful. The unit was spacious, comfortable, clean and fully functional - pretty new looking too. There was no TV or internet access during our stay but Sharon was working on it. Our suggestion would be to arrive during daylight hours on your first day because there is no street lighting and it might be difficult to find in the dark. Almost no "light pollution" so potential for excellent night-sky viewing. We loved the night calls of the coqui frogs but it was also good that once you closed the windows and doors, you no longer heard them as loudly so your sleep isn't disturbed. Also a great delight to awaken to the sound of birds every morning. Note that the nearest grocery stores are about 15-20 minutes away.
