The space

The Basecamp is a beautiful, civilized Log Cabin in the cool pines of Flagstaff. Just 6 miles from downtown Flagstaff which sits at 7000 feet and just 80 miles from the Grand Canyon and 20 miles north of Sedona. It's also just over 2 hours North to Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. All can be amazing day trips. Flagstaff is truly the "gateway to Northern Arizona" and this is your perfect BASECAMP to see every amazing place Northern Arizona has to offer.

Rejuvenate and rest after exploring greater Northern Arizona, in this civilized log cabin BASECAMP. Feel free to relax in the hammock in the back yard and watch the clouds or maybe take in a starry night sky around the back yard fire ring.

Rest easy on the BRAND NEW pillow top queen (15" think) mattresses. Topped with cozy fleece blankets and feather down comforters. You will not be cold. (no second hand 4"mattresses here!)

FREE WIFI.

NO cable TV. The TV has a Firestick attached which gives you FREE access to NETFLIX and Prime video.

There is a a large front and rear patio to take in the scent of the surrounding pines. Breakfast, lunch, "happy hour" and dinner can be enjoyed from the seating on the rear deck. Take advantage of the nicely appointed kitchen to make that special someone a beautiful breakfast.

ENJOY! the complimentary coffee and tea service. Coffee, teas, cream and sugar, honey, and fresh baked goods provided to every vacationing guest to make you feel at home and special.

The Basecamp, is rustic enough to connect with the spirit of Northern Arizona, and just enough off the beaten path to relish in the seclusion, yet still conveniently located. If you prefer to stay somewhere a little more unique, The Basecamp is your place!

The Basecamp is ideally located to downtown Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Sedona, and several national monuments, and national forests.

Basecamp is a dog friendly facility. We have pet beds and a water bowl and pet treats for the four legged members of you family. Please be aware that there is a $50.00 additional fee for the first dog and $25.00 for each additional pet. This is mostly to deal with the extra cleaning involved after your visit. This payment will be requested after your booking is confirmed. We also asked if you have a pet over 100lbs, that you send us more information about your dog. We are not other animal friendly so no cats, gerbils, snakes, lizards or other friends.

I do not provide firewood.

Firewood is hard to come by in bulk right now with the COVID and extremely over priced. I can not afford to by and provide firewood with the current economic conditions.

Local grocery stores have bundles for sale and I believe the gas station as you exit I-17 has bundles for sale. Not sure about pricing.

If you going to use the fire pit outside please be sure when your finished you put the fire out cold with water from the hose that is right next to the fire pit. Responsible use of the fire pit will allow me to continue providing this relaxing and fun option. The indoor wood stove is self contained and can maintain a fire through out the night. Nothing to do but light it and close the door. No flue and anything else to mess with. When you done just let it burn out.

Guest access
We are mountain bikers so if you are traveling here an need some direction to a shop let us know.

Coffee is provided, along with tea, hot coco, oatmeal, granola bars, and apples. There are always fresh baked muffins.

Local books and maps are provided.

My neighbor brought to my attention that some of the pet owners have left their dogs in the back yard all day barking. This had me questioning my dog friendly policy. I have decide to keep allowing dogs but ask that as pet owners you be respectful to my neighbors and keep the pooches barking under control.

The Basecamp, does not have air conditioning. There are two fans including a ceiling fan in the master bedroom, also flagstaff is nice and cool in the evenings so when you open a couple of windows you get a nice cross breeze.

Flagstaff can cool down at nights so bring enough covering to be comfortable in the evening hours and do remember we are at 7,000 feet, which takes time to adjust to this elevation for some. Be kind to yourself if you feel a bit out of breath, a nice walk downtown and the fresh mountain air will be a big help and real treat, enjoy!
