Officially a “campground” our rustic OFF-GRID cabin has creature comforts of home nestled in a 20 acre forest. Think of "glamping" or/ glamorous camping! Just 20 minutes south of Eau Claire, Wisconsin .We are a short 5 miles from the major highway 94. Explore our many trails or simply relax by the fire pit.

The space
Due to new (and rather stringent) regulations in Wisconsin, we've been out of business as a favorite eco-tourism destination since March 4, 2026.

GOOD NEWS: As of June 15, we have paid all required fees and completed the necessary—and recommended—upgrades to our humble off-grid rental cabin and forest retreat.

We are now reopening for business, having received an official state license to operate as a "campground" (with just one one-of-a-kind campsite). Yay!
We are not your average vacation spot! Living OFF-GRID means electricity comes from batteries, the sun or sometimes the generator. The loo is an out door commode. Very clean and comfortable , it’s straight out the back door. A water pump is located on the east side of the cabin. A primer jug is next to the pump. Pouring water from the jug while pumping will activate the pump. Any questions? We’re here to help!

Guest access
The cabin and fire-pit area are for guest use. The surrounding structures are David and Veronica's work zones.
Hiking trails are rugged , grassy and sometimes wet.

Other things to note
The cabin is tucked in the woods behind the main house. The forest is all around you! Relax, wander the trails and actually hear the quiet.
Winter guests , be advised that plowing doesn’t always happen right away so hearty winter vehicles are important.

David is an environmental engineer with an artistic eye towards creating unique furniture with wood harvested from our forest in Wisconsin. Veronica has been self employed since 1988 with a residential cleaning service. Her creativity was sparked after attending an Iron Pour in 2005 and has been casting iron, bronze and aluminum ever since.
