Beautiful three acre avacado farm with a pool, furo soaking tub, sauna and oceans views of Kailua Kona. Sheep, goat, dogs, cat all live outside and very friendly. The home has fresh fruit galore and homestyle cooking. Hawaii at its best mountain life.
We are a three acre avacado farm in the mountains with fantastic views of the ocean and only 4 miles from Kailua Kona downtown or the beach.
The room comes with huge walk-in marble shower, a great sauna, and a furo soaking tub on the lanai overlooking the ocean and mountain. Guests have access to the pool and fun firepit to use. We have a laundry room to use for a minimal fee. Guests can feed the animals and wander the 3 acre farm at will.
Interaction with Guests
I am a retired chef, love to cook and have extensive knowledge of the Big Island. A menu of choices is provided at check-in and fresh fruit is always available.
Very quiet with fantastic views and weather.
Guests must have their own transportation.
No smoking in the house. Put trash in selected bins.
Pam made us feel most welcome and the food was good. in fact we had to ask Pam to make the breakfast a little smaller or we would needed help getting to the car after 10 days from gaining too much weight.
The room was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed. We came and went as we pleased with no problems. As expected we did need a car and it is about a 10 - 15 min. drive into town. If possible plan to arrive in daylight as it is very dark around Kona after sunset due to street lighting restrictions. Pam has good suggestions for restaurants and activities and the beaches are great.
Thanks Pam for a good stay.

Interesting and unique experience. The room is very large and very clean so it worked well for our family of three. Breakfast was delicious. We were disappointed that the pool could not be used while we were there (pool cleaner didn't come by and the owner said it takes 1-1/2 hour to heat it). There are roosters that crow at night/early morning.
Thank you Pamela for all ! All it was perfect : delicious breakfast, big room, bathroom very relaxing! the only regret is not being able to talk more with you because of the language! Five stars for your beautiful house !
Had a wonderful stay with Pamela and her many animals (including Mabel the donkey) at her avocado farm in the hills above Kona. Our room was large and very comfortable, bed great, private bathroom spa-like. A cool, quiet retreat after finding our way around the Kona area to beaches/snorkelling/food venues. Pamela herself is a great character and host, making us feel right at home the minute we arrived. Highly recommended for those who want a peaceful retreat from the traffic and noise in the Ali'i Drive area.
Our stay with Pam was very comfortable and fun! Conveniently located close to the Kona airport. The sauna was amazing and Pam's breakfast was delicious. Incredible views of the coast and a great climate. Thank you Pam!
I have stayed in some great places all over the world (feel free to read about many of them on Airbnb). The Green Lion farm is one of the best. Pam is a kind and thoughtful host who was built a three acre paradise overlooking the Kona coast on Hawaii. The master bedroom is larger than some apartments and the master bath features a giant two head marble shower. Next to the shower is your own private Finnish sauna, so that you can do the warm/wet thing when you get back from the surf. The beach is just minutes away down a fast modern road, but you are above it all near the art and foodie historic town of Holoualoa. Farm animals graze next to the house. Pam is full of stories about her adventurous life in both Hawaii and Alaska (maybe Alaska is the reason she has the sauna). Even though breakfast is not a benefit of Airbnb, Pam generously gathered fresh avocados and pineapple from her own orchard and fixed us an amazing meal. My wife and I have been coming to Hawaii for years -- Pam's place is outstanding. This experience should cost way more than it does -- get it while you can.
Avacado farmer, who loves animals, gardening, I enjoy cooking and travel. I am a widow who wants to complete the dreams of a 35 year marriage. I have taught scuba diving, was a real estate agent and love Hawaii. I am originally from Alaska and had a hotel business for eleven years.
