Description

The space

An Australian beach house holiday at its best, the house is nestled in the unspoiled beauty of the New South Wales south coast.

This is an easy, comfortable four bedroom house, nestled on the river among the gum trees with a full kitchen and washing facilities, an outside BBQ and conveniences like a TV and DVD player.

We provide bed linen but you will need to bring your own towels, as previous guests have acquired them.

Stroll through the trees to the calm lagoon of Candlagan Creek and the gentle surf of Broulee's main beachfront. The patrolled sands of South Broulee are just a few minutes by car as well as the secluded snorkelling.

Away from the sun and sand you can also explore the delights of the Eurobodalla nature coast , from the Clyde River oysters and waterfront restaurants of Bateman's Bay, just 20 minutes north, to the craft stores of Mogo and Moruya, cheese making at Bodalla and the natural beauty of Tuross Heads and Montague Island. .

We had a lovely stay at Robert's house in Broulee. Robert was very easy to communicate with. The location was excellent - a short walk to the beach but in a very quiet location. The house had everything we needed, plenty of space for our family. The secure backyard was great for our dog. Would recommend staying here.

Host was great and very easy to work with. The house is in a great location and the backyard being enclosed is great for families with small children. Close to beaches and a very comfortable place. Would stay again!

We had a brilliant few days at Robert's Broulee house. Perfect for families, with plenty of beds and things to do, and ample entertaining space - the photos on Airbnb undersell the house! No hidden traps for toddlers either. We hope to be back again - the weather was lovely, everything was easy, and the house is a short walk to the Candlagan Creek mouth and it's infinite supply of free oysters!

The house and the location are great BUT... The house wasn't clean at all on our arrival. The dishwasher was broken. The sewage was blocked so one of the toilets was inoperative besides the heavy smell. Beds sheets were used from previous guests but must say Robert called us from overseas and organised a quick bed sheet change the same night of our arrival. Still disappointing we had to paid $90 cleaning fee.

Response from Robert:
I made a mistake and the house had not been cleaned for Cheo's arrival. This was rectified within a few hours, as he points out, and he had a pleasant stay. It is unfortunate that there was a problem with one of the toilets although I disagree that there was a heavy odour as he suggests. It has been fixed..

I am a journalist and author, raised in Australia but living in London. I grew up on the surfing beaches of south-west Western Australia and spent almost 20 years living in Sydney before moving to the UK eight years ago.
My wife, Paola, and I are both journalists for a metropolitan daily newspaper. I have also written and published 10 non-fiction books. My wife, Paola, and I live upstairs. Paola is a freelance journalist working for major Australian and UK newspapers, radio and television. Even though the apartment has a separate entry, it is part of our home which is a lovely Georgian terrace dating back to around 1800.
We love travelling ourselves and have a sense of what our guests need - a combination of comfort and information but also the space to explore one of the world's great cities. As your hosts, we are happy to help.
