Douglas was a great host and communicator. We completely enjoyed our stay at Tide View. The house is very well designed and comfortable. I would highly recommend it.
Douglas' home is perfect for a weekend of rest and relaxation. We stayed here before we went bio-luminescence kayaking in Marshall (which I highly recommend). It has panoramic views over Tomales Bay, and numerous outdoor patios for lounging and eating. It was one of the most peaceful sleeps I have had in a while, and I got to wake up to the sound of birds chirping. Douglas was super communicative and sent me everything I needed to know about his place. The house is also close to some delicious restaurants and delis, and Point Reyes Station is a short drive away. Highly recommended!
We had a great stay at Douglas' home on Tomales Bay. The house was the perfect place to unwind for a couple of days and a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding nature. All of the rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The view from the deck was A+! Douglas was also very accommodating and responsive in helping us plan the smaller details of our trip. I highly recommend staying here!
We stayed at the property last year and found it to be very comfortable for our family. It is spacious, well laid out and a perfect location for exploring the area. Douglas was prompt in responding to our inquiries and worked with us to accommodate our schedule.
Great house, great location. I liked that everything about being in the house was easy, no instructions required. The view of Tomales Bay is wonderful.
The house was beautiful and very clean. We loved the modern design and how the simplicity of the decor made the home warm and calming. The open floor plans, natural light and amazing views and surroundings made us feel like we never wanted to leave. Douglas even left us a bottle of wine to welcome us. Our trip to wine country was somewhat long each day, but the drive was spectacular and there are many wonderful places to eat and things to do surrounding Inverness and Point Reyes. We would definitely stay here again and would hope to spend more time relaxing at the home.
This was a truly remarkable property in every way. Gorgeous house, amazing location with a breathtaking view, delightful bedrooms and bathrooms with mega shower heads, comfortable beds, delightful furnishings and artwork on the walls. The separate downstairs unit was perfect for us because my sister and her family wanted their own private space.
The common areas were also perfect. The living rooms and dining rooms were spacious and super comfortable and homey, the entertainment system was terrific with a stereo and a small but mighty collection of CDs and DVDs (in the master bedroom), and a beautiful large screen TV (we could never get the supposedly free netflix subscription to work, however).
The kitchen was also fantastic, with modern appliances, plenty of dishes and cooking gear, and a nice supply of staples like spices, oil, vinegar, etc. They even compost and recycle! Oh, and there was a beautiful patio with a picnic table for outdoor meals when the sun was shining (which wasn't quite enough for us :) Wish there had been a barbecue grill and a hot tub, but you can't have everything!
I can't praise this place enough; it was beyond perfect for my family celebrating my mother's 80th birthday. We were able to project our "this is your life" slide show from our macs to the apple tv, make and eat amazing meals, and just relax and do nothing but read and look at the view. I'll definitely be back.
Thank you, Jonathan. I hope you do come back. The house was easy to prepare for some very nice people who arrived on the day you left. Which brings me to the absence of a hot tub and a barbecue. Would we be able to clean and get it ready for the next person? ( I'm also nervous about the fire hazard.) I think I can solve that problem with two barbecues but hot tubs are expensive. We will solve the netflix access problem and maybe edge toward solving the other two.
If you come back -- and I hope you do -- you will qualify for a 10% discount or, off-season, an adjoining weekday free. Douglas
