Beautiful and secluded private studio in the hills of Echo Park.

The space
Our home, located above the historic Fellowship Way Trail, was originally built in the early 1900’s for silent film star, Tom Mix. Tucked back in the hills of Echo Park, our space feels private and secluded with breathtaking views of the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, and San Gabriel Mountains. If you're renting a car there is street parking available with no restrictions.

Our small, but cozy studio has a private entrance, a sofa bed (full bed, sleeps 2 comfortably and can be folded up for more room to move around during the day), available closet space, workspace, and shower. There is no kitchen or laundry access, but the house is nearby local cafés and a small mini fridge is provided along with complimentary coffee & tea. The room is not air conditioned but built into the hillside and shaded which generally stays cooler than the main house. Fans are provided.

The room requires using stairs to get onto our property and down to the room from the main house.

Guest access
We encourage guests to take advantage of our shared spaces like the patio deck w/ grill, hammock, and garden (when in season). We recommend reading our House Manual section once booked to get a better lay of the land.

Other things to note
Guests are welcome to pick and eat from our vegetable gardens (when in season). We encourage guests to utilize our outdoor space. There is a roku to watch Spectrum Cable TB, Netflix, Amazon Video, HBO and more. A refrigerator is located in the closet.

We do live on an undeveloped hillside so believe it not, we get some wildlife. We get occasional skunks and raccoons and have spotted coyotes and great horned owls too. Don't be alarmed if you spot some or you hear something outside during the evening. It’s not uncommon to find insects in or around the property during the summer.

We do not allow pets in the studio but we ourselves own a cat and free-roaming chickens. For those highly allergic you may want to take this into consideration. Although our cat does not have access to the studio we sometimes allow him to go outside (don’t be surprise if you see him in the roaming around the yard during the weekends).

We’re located just minutes from the shops, restaurants, and bars of Echo Park and Silverlake and a short drive from premium shopping in Pasadena and The Americana at Brand. The neighborhood offers rolling hills and stairway trails that make for excellent hikes. Other nearby attractions are Elysian Park and Dodger's Stadium.
