The Space

Our home, located above the historic Fellowship Way Trail, was originally built in the early 1900’s for famous silent film star, Tom Mix. Tucked back in the hills of Echo Park our space feels private and secluded with breathtaking views of the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, and San Gabriel Mountains. If your renting a car there is street parking available with no restrictions.

Our small but private studio offers a sofa bed (full bed, sleeps 2 comfortably), 2 closets, office area, and shower. No direct kitchen or laundry access but the house is walking distance to local cafés and a small mini fridge is provided along with complimentary coffee & tea.

Guest Access

We encourage guests to take advantage of our shared spaces like the patio deck, hammock, and garden (when in season). We recommend reading our House Manual section once booked to get a better lay of the land.

Interaction with Guests

We have little interaction with our guests except for the shared outdoor spaces.

The Neighborhood

We’re located just minutes from the shops, restaurants, and bars of Echo Park and Silverlake and a short drive from premium shopping in Pasadena and The Americana at Brand. The neighborhood offers rolling hills and stairway trails that make for excellent hikes. Other nearby attractions are Elysian Park and Dodger's Stadium.

Getting Around

Dash buses run daily just a few blocks from our house and Uber/Lyft rides are usually under a 10 min wait. 15 minutes from Downtown and 45 from Santa Monica and LAX. Easy access to all major freeways, particularly 2 & 5.

As mentioned our neighborhood has some steep hills and winding streets. If your renting a car and would like more specific directions or ways around our neighborhood feel free to message us before you arrive.

Other Things to Note

Guests are welcome to pick and eat from our vegetable gardens (when in season). We encourage guests to utilize our outdoor space. There is a roku to watch streaming video such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or HBO GO. A refrigerator is located in the closet.

We do live on an undeveloped hillside so believe it not, we get some wildlife. We get occasional skunks and raccoons and have spotted coyotes too. Don't be alarmed if you spot some or you hear something outside during the evening.

Lastly, while we do not allow pets in the studio we ourselves own a cat (indoor only) and 2 chickens (outdoor) and for those highly allergic you may want to take this into consideration.

We have been happily living here in Echo Park for 8 years and love our neighborhood and home. We love food, cocktails, and entertainment. When we go out it's generally on the East Side (Echo Park, Silverlake, Downtown, Eagle Rock, Highland Park) so we are happy to recommend our favorites.

You can also find some of our favorite local hang outs on our listing page.
