About this listing
We recently moved to this beautiful sun drenched apartment.
The apartment is large and located in a beautiful historical building where the old New York City grandeur is still visible
Your bedroom is very spacious and has large south and west facing windows. Great views! The Chrysler building, the Empire State Building and the new Freedom Tower are all visible from your room. In the room there is a small table with 2 chairs where you can sit and enjoy the views.
The queen size bed and mattress are new and very comfortable. The mattress is made of natural materials like bamboo, wool and cotton. In your room and also in the rest of the apartment you will find the most amazing modern paintings.
Next to your room is your own private newly renovated bathroom.
The apartment is so big that it will really make you feel like having your own space. If you want to bring your kid(s), we might be able to put an extra bed (luxury air bed) in our office-room.
Of course you're most welcome to use our large sunny kitchen. There is a breakfast table where you can have your morning coffee or tea, while enjoying more great views!
I'm a certified Iyengar yoga teacher, so if you want we can start the day with a private energizing yoga lesson in our yoga-room.
Or finish the day with a beautiful meditation.
The apartment is located in the Upper West Side, probably the most beautiful neighborhood of New York. We are just one block away from the Riverside Park and the Hudson River and just three blocks from Central Park. We're on walking distance from The American Museum of National History and at the METROPOLITAN and Guggenheim. The Upper West Side is a quiet tree-lined neighborhood but has a lot of great restaurants, bars and shops. We're just 2 blocks away from the well known Silver Moon Bakery where they have the best chocolate-almond croissants you can imagine. The famous jazz club Smoke is almost around the corner.
The main subway lines (1 2, 3 trains) are just a few blocks away. They bring you to Time Square in 15 minutes, Greenwich Village in 20 minutes and Brooklyn in 30 minutes.
We're a quiet little family with a small baby, a playful dachshund and a beautiful sweet siamese cat. The animals of course do not come into your room.
We like traveling, yoga, art and music. We love the city we live in and are most happy to share all our inside tips with you.
We speak English, German, Dutch, and also a little bit Spanish, Portuguese and French .
We're looking forward to welcome you as our guests!

Lara's room was very clean and confortable , and same for the private bathroom !
Everything was like the description.
I really recommend it !
Lara's place was my first Airbnb expérience. Already before my trip, she sent me lots of useful informations. The room was spacious, clean and big windows with great views. The apartment was very well located near the subway and the neighbourhood was safe with restaurants bloc away.A nearby parc at the Hudson river was a nice place to go for a walk and have a drink. It was near Central Park as well.
Our flight was delayed two hours at the departure from Paris so we arrived at JFK very late - Ronald explained me effitiently for the taxi and greeted us with a kind smile. Lara is open-minded person and they have wonderful children - I highly recommend Lara's place .
Lara's room is awesome: Huge wide open in NYC with a clean private bathroom! Lara and her husband were very gentle with us, givin us suggestions about NY visit and infos. As first experience ever with AirBnB , it has been Perfect!
If you want a quiet place to stay in a busy city, with easy access to the subway system, friendly hosts, and a comfortable bed to boot -- stay at Lara's.
Very friendly hosts, large room with very comfortable bed, just what we needed after a day downtown. Location was great for us, far enough away from the very busy areas but close enough to get there easily. Thank you Lara DNS Ronald for your hospitality and advice.
About the Host, Lara
I'm a 40 years and live in NYC since 2,1/2 year now.
I love music, art, yoga and meditation.
My profession is yoga teacher and I'm also a mother off a beautiful baby girl.I Am expecting my second baby early summer 2015.
I love it to be a host. To meet unknown fiends from all over the world coming to NY. To share the enthusiasm we have for the city. And to talk about the NY life what has a lot to offer but can also be very hectic and because of that it's great we life close to the parks. Central park and hudson park. And close to the musea. We open our house and heart and in the same time respect the private space of the guests. That's so YOGA!
