Three golden Rules
1. Pension Berlin is my baby, please handle it with care!
2. You are not alone! If you come back late or get up early, please try to be quiet.
3. Our good old friend Immanuel Kant and his categorical imperative.
Frank made us feel like his own guests which is very welcome when you arrive in a big city. The accommodation was exactly what we had been looking for in a city awash with big hotels, somewhere quirky and creative. It was only a few minutes from cafés, bars and a little further to the canal. A great base for us to explore this fast changing city and we both agreed Kreuzberg was the most interesting and real area of Berlin to stay in.
The room is beautiful and Frank is very welcoming. He even invited us to his art gallery opening! Location is quite convenient - U-Bahn station literally right around the corner, and lots of good restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Frank's place is perfect for the movie buffs amongst us & the bedroom walls are lined with scenes from Fassbinder's epic 1931 film "Berlin Alexanderplatz". It's smack bang between funky Kreuzberg & boho Neukölln & a short walk to the metro station connects you to the rest of Berlin. We visited in the summer & the nearby river was lined with people playing music & picnicking.
As Frank was helping a friend with a Gallery showing during our stay, we didn't get to see much of him but when we did he gave us plenty of hints & tips in the neighbourhood. Frank provides breakfast nibbles & coffee. Self-catering is a bit tricky at this property but eating out was a pleasure for us & we found tonnes of great places nearby. Frank would quietly replace our towels each day & make sure the bathroom & living room were clean for us. He has done a wonderful job with this place! Be sure to check out the "coin" floor!
I couldn't have picked a better neighbourhood and a better host to spend the one and a half day I had in Berlin. The home was full of character and my room was done up beautifully. Frank was always helpful and accommodating both on mail and in person.
Our experience at Frank's home was more than delightful. The room and home is an unforgettable experience and frank himself keeps it that way, with the little things that mean alot. He greeted us at the door upon arrival, had fresh towels ready, layed out snacks with coffee and gave us very helpful suggestions and advice regarding locations to visit and the neighborhiid. The home is clean and the work done to it is amazing. There is so many things to love about this home. I would take the opportunity to stay here again!!
Frank is a great host (as I expected). The place fun and inspiring. Comfortable beds. The location is perfect for an exploration of the city on foot or by bike. Lots of nice redtaurants nearby.

About the Host, Frank
A long time ago...I moved to the city, that I love, Berlin, and finally, with a lots of love, passion and help from my friends, I created the "Pension Berlin", known as the city´s smallest "hotel".
Be my guest and feel like beeing part of the art and this beautiful city. The "Pension Berlin" offers you, besides lots of artworks, the smallest and the one and only Rainer Werner Fassbinder Memorial Shrine.
