Stay in a 1940’s log cabin across from Bass Lake!. Best place to stay for both lake access and visiting Yosemite. You have a private locked room with a double bed and share the cabin's amenities with guests from 2 other rooms. We are:
- 5-minute walk to beach access, Village, restaurants, boat rentals, and hiking trails.
- Nestled in a private location on Sierra National Forest property
-16 miles from the west gate of Yosemite National Park/Giant Sequoias
- hour from Yosemite Valley!

The space
Experience a genuine log cabin! It is rustic in a good way! The cabin is a open design with 3 rooms that we rent on one side of cabin. We have another building on property as we also run adventure program and college semester program during the year. We block dates according to program/Airbnb schedules.
Cabin includes:
-a large kitchen with 2 gas stoves and all you need for food preparation
-2 decks out front with tables and shade umbrellas
-a deck outback with 2 covered patio areas with ceiling fans, lights
-a ping pong table
- a large tv/dvd player on wheels in library
-internet
- a large stone fireplace
-on demand water heater
- several different seating areas with couches
- You will share all common space The bathrooms are his and hers. Each has 2 private shower stalls and 2 loos. *NOTE that you will have to walk across cabins shared living space to reach them.
- The rooms are NOT large though cabin itself has plenty of space.
-There is also a YART bus service that makes daily trips to the valley that can be picked up in the Pines Village a 5-minute walk from the lodge.
- We are located in a secluded spot up a steep driveway across from Bass Lake. The lake is full and beautiful this year! Enjoy your stay!

***Please note that we are a authentic log cabin in the woods! We have little lizards, bats, bugs that over the years have a few times made their way in the cabin. If this is not something you can handle then a cabin in the forest may not be the best for you. We hope it is!

Guest access
The entire lodge is available. Full kitchen, large open great room with stone fireplace and wood stove, library with TV and DVD player, 2 decks. The tent cabins and office on the property are private lodgings and office space and we ask you not venture here. The front, back deck, and entire lodge are yours to enjoy. PLEASE NOTE! The forest around us is full of downed trees from big storms and the tree mortality from beetles. There are tree snags and it is NOT SAFE TO WALK IN! It is a forest service property. We maintain our 3 acres but the rest is government land and not our responsibility. Please stay out of ravines and woods behind the lodge. For exploring please use Hiking trails that are maintained located by Falls Beach a 10-minute walk from the cabin. NO FIRES are permitted during summer months as fire danger is high. No smoking is allowed in building or on the property.

Other things to note
We are in the woods! We have a routine monthly pest control service but there are still at times bugs that make there way in! We also have lizards that occasionally make their way into the building when someone leaves the door open. Black bears lumber through periodically though most people never see them they do live here!
We are backed up to national forest and the trees are not maintained so please anywhere you go in the Sierras please be careful of all the fallen trees. The property does have dogs in separate building. A friendly corgi working dog and an Australian shepherd belonging to the directors of Summit. Neither dog is allowed in the lodge.
We are a shared cabin. No more than 6-8 people share the space. We also have an adventure wilderness program that runs out of the same location so you may see staff on property.
We are not a hostel but have a few similarities in that you share space with other travelers. This is more like a shared home. Our Program Director Alex from our adventure program lives on the property (not in lodge) He is awesome and will be glad to answer questions when he is around. Enjoy your stay!
