I rent a clean and simple apartment, located in the antique center of Naples, in the South of Italy. Naples, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, famous for its typical food, the pizza, of course, and for its coffee, one of the traditions of Naples. If you want to see the real Italy, don't miss Naples!!!
The apartment is composed of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom with the shower and a balcony. This is the real Napoli -- for travelers seeking an authentic experience, living the city in a "palazzo" alongside quite traditional Neapolitan families.
If you want to stay "a due passi da Spaccanapoli", and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the place for you!
Your host will be Giacomo S. He's an old friend -- we've known each other since 2001. He is from Naples, and lives around the corner.
Parking is not easy in the antique center of Naples. The apartment is actually inside a Zona Traffico Limitato (ZTL) which means "limited traffic zone". This is great for pedestrians, it's really a lovely place to walk around. But it will be very difficult to park on my street. There are some nearby garages.
Other things to note
Very important: the apartment is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator! It's quite a climb, but most people feel like the super-central location of the apartment more than makes up for it.
Also, our neighbor has a dog. His name is Oliver. He's very friendly, you might meet him in the hallway.
Like most traditional Napoletan homes, my apartment lacks central heating. Almost no one in the antique center of Naples has it. It's usually quite warm, but when it gets cold, people hang out together in one room around the 'stufa' -- a space heater. Mine is electric, and is strong enough to keep the bedroom warm. The hot water in the bathroom works very well, so the shower provides enough heat in there.
VERY IMPORTANT: check-in to the apartment is possible *only* before 6pm. If your arrival to Naples will be later than 6pm, you will need to stay in a hotel (which we can help you find) for one night, and check into the apartment in the morning.
Please be silent after hours and respect our neighbors. This building is inhabited by traditional Neapolitan families so that should be kept in mind. Neighbors may be very curious about you and want to chat. They may come off nosy but they're actually quite friendly. That said, it's best to be brief, and if you leave them thinking you're an old friend of mine, they'll treat you more as a friend. That's the way things work in Naples :)

I like good food and good music in a vibrant city. That's what drew me to Naples in the late 90s. After enjoying the city immensely for three and a half years, my wanderlust brought me to Amsterdam for a year, and then to Valencia, Spain for another year and a half.
Nowadays I'm back in Amsterdam, working hard...
