Staying here really depends on your expectations. Memo and Iso were very friendly, but the stay was not great for a few reasons (mainly comfort and ants). Maybe I expected more than I should have, but at basically $88 a night (plus fees)...things were just disappointing and were not quite "hotel luxury". Though...I didn't really expect hotel luxury. LOCATION: So-so...safe, but many sketchy characters along 57th Ave. Area is VERY noisy at night (yes, much of NYC is), but it is right behind the businesses on 57th..and very thin windows didn't help. I should have done a street view on Google prior to booking...my bad. Plenty of basic shopping /eating nearby and also some less than appealing places. ROOM: Upstairs double bedroom was reasonably clean...not actually carpeted as mentioned (just some runners). Beds are VERY hard. We did not sleep well. Windows very thin and drafty, and let in too much noise. Also, too much light thanks to thin white curtains. There are small holes in the walls near the windows. I assume that is how may ants are getting in?? There were ants in the bedroom and bathroom. I guess that can happen anywhere, but that is typically something you should take care of if you are going to host guests. The room temperature was VERY inconsistent. The room would be very warm in the day and evening...and very chilly late at night. Maybe that is how they prefer it. I mentioned this to Iso...he said it was a thermostat issue. The TV was nice and mini fridge was convenient but contained just a jug of water (no complimentary soft drinks and snack bars...as listed and pictured). BATHROOM: Sink and toilet were basically clean, but the shower itself was just not good. Lots of blackened/moldy caulk. Just not pleasant. Water pressure very low. PARKING: Street parking can be found if you are patient and determined. Not recommended if you have a rental car, since NYC drivers have no problem banging your bumpers parking their own cars. I used to live there, I know. Parking in the backyard of the house was comical. You better bring the smallest car you can. Mini cooper...(email hidden)c. The shared alleyway lane between this house and the neighbor which leads to parking space is SOOOO narrow you can just get through with mirrors pulled in. I got the smallest car they had at rental place..which was an Elantra. I barely got through. Getting in is tight. Turning your car around and leaving is the ridiculous part. Just prey the neighbor has left for work or you will have problems. Memo and Iso did both offer to help guide us in and out though. Overall, very nice hosts...allowed us to arrive early...but the price was too high for what it is...and is not "hotel" luxury. The price is lower now than when I booked, so may be okay for some. But please fix aunt issue, do something about bath. maybe get some mattress toppers and a ceiling...
Memo and Iso were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make us comfortable.
La casa es muy bonita y ordenada, memo nos recibió muy bien y nos explico cómo funcionaba todo en la casa, pero después de ahí no los volvimos a ver, no se si nuestro tiempo no coincidía, pero la casa y la ubicación esta muy bien
We enjoyed our stay at Memo's place. They are very friendly and willing to help. The location is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the subway, which is great. Most importantly, they have a parking spot if you are driving. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. We highly recommend other travelers to stay at this place.
Me recomendaron esta página y valio la pena. Tenía justo todo lo que necesitaba. La habitación es tal cual se ve en la foto, el anfitrión muy amable . La zona está rodeada de grandes tiendas perfectas para hacer shopping.
The last day of our trip in New York we needed a place to stay and lucked out when we got this place. While it is farther out, its proximity to LGA was awesome. The host was so kind and sweet. The room was lovely. The environment was quiet and peaceful. We could not have asked for a better accommodation.

Hi Everybody! We have been living in New York since 2008. I, Memo, love to travel, watching movies, riding bike in Central Park and in the city. Iso loves reading books, likes to follow politics, news and planting organic foods. Also, we are operating a small business (Pedicab Tours) in Central Park. We would like to host nice people all around the world who wants to experience one of the most attractive city, New York. Hope to see you soon!
