Property just as described. Great location, and a perfect jumping-off point to explore the Salton Sea. Right on the water with incredible views of the Sea. Do your homework ahead of time so you know what to expect with regards to the Salton Sea. We stayed in late May and temps were already near triple digits. Flies were bad, so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor deck as much as we would have liked to. Obviously, owner has no control over this. The house stayed very cool and comfortable. I would definitely stay at this location again, but my next visit will be during a cooler time of the year. Thanks, Anthony, for your hospitality!
PS: Anthony is very quick and responsive to questions, so much appreciated!
Excellent! We had a wonderful time at Anthony's Salton Sea house. Clean, stocked with everything you might forget or need, fantastic views of the sea, spacious, and quiet! Anthony is quick to respond to any questions via text or message on Air BnB. 5 out of 5!
We wanted to get away from LA and visit this historical place. It's truly amazing. The house is built in what was to be the premiere marina of the Riviera Keys, which is now dry. You can walk down into the basin and find some pretty surreal things, but beware of the soil. Some of it is so soft, you'll fall right in!
Expect to see fantastic sunrises and sunsets, quiet nights, and invisible neighbors. During the day the flies come out and there isn't much that will keep them away, but don't worry because they go to sleep after sunset, and at night there are zero bugs/critters.
Being that The Marina is the a major destination of Salton City, there are periodic tourists who pull up next to the house and walk down to the shores. Everyone is incredibly friendly, so wave back!
There are nearly zero facilities out there, so come prepared food wise. Pretend you're camping. We packed enough food for an army and nearly burned through all of it. It's all about cooking, hanging out, and exploring.
I don't know who would come out here without studying the history of the sea, but do watch some documentaries before you come. It will make it mean that much more. Such an important part of California history. We will be back!
would love photos and thank you again of sharing our home and sea. the more people that know about it .the better. history has changed most people are not aware the water has always been there but . the colorado river was blocked from feeding the sea . and the river managed to find its way back into the sea in 1905
Anthony made me feel very welcome. He was very response and always available. The neighborhood was quiet, open, and peaceful. The house was bigger than I had anticipated from the description and photos and very well equipped with updated appliances. Anthony was kind enough to leave the Keurig coffee maker loaded and ready to go. There is a great selection of tea's to choose from as well as healthy options about the house. The home is very cozy and overall a nice quaint getaway.
Anthony's place was everything as described. The place was very clean and the cupboards were well stocked with essentials. Lots of fresh towels too. The beds were all comfortable and we had a great time staying at this unique location while we attended the Coachella music festival. Anthony was also very responsive and attentive. Thanks for a great visit!!
This rental exceeded our expectation. The views over the Salton Sea, particularly at sunrise and with the moon overhead, where exquisite! The kitchen was well-stocked and the home was clean and inviting. Our host was helpful, friendly and available. The town of Borrego, was only 30 minutes away, offered outstanding restaurant options, Beautiful art and a spa, with a lovely pool and numerous other amenities such as private steam rooms for only $15 for day pass.
Anthony was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The home and view were stunning to say the least. I planned my trip based on the description of provided accommodations and to my surprise we found much more than we expected when we arrived. My group felt very safe and relaxed during our stay - so much so that we slept in a bit enjoying the comfort of such a beautiful home. The neighborhood (despite the sparsity of houses) was great, as we arrived we were greeted by a neighbor which was a welcoming experience. Waking up in the morning to a gorgeous view of the Salton Sea will be an unforgettable memory for both myself and my group. We all agreed that the next time we take a trip to the Salton Sea area we would certainly do our best to stay at this wonderful location again!
I had the best time in my life out there this time because we were able to stay in Anthony's house it was wonderful it had everything we needed fully stock for the things that we had to use even though we took our own next time we know we're going to just leave that at home there is coffee pot blender with the house I was very impressed I intend to use this property over and over again thank you for a wonderful time and making sure that your guests have a great visit in your home the views were to die for take a camera you sure will want to have the memories thank you guys until next year or maybe again this year I'm sure I'm looking forward to the stay in San Diego here soon I'm sure if this property was so lovely I'm sure the other ones are also thank you once again we had a very good time loved loved loved the house
