1 bedroom casita completely renovated as "green" as possible in the village of Corrales, midway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
The casita includes Direct TV, Select Comfort bed, off street parking and a pellet stove. The shower is to "die for". Close to the Bosque and Rio Grande, biking and riding trails. Swimming pool and tennis courts across the street, with Sunday growers Market.
Corrales is a village in Sandoval County with a population of 8329, nestled between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho by the Rio Grande, but seems worlds away from its surrounding cities. Very close to Balloon Fiesta ( October 6-14, 2012) and great views of the balloons. Albuquerque has great skiing, biking and hiking, fabulous museums and art galleries. A no miss is the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway which slowly climbs the 10,378 foot peak of the mountain that form Albuquerque's eastern border.
Corrales is also close to Santa Fe and the Indian Market ((August 18-19 2012) and the famous Santa Fe flea market and opera. Santa Fe also has a wonderful folk art museum, Georgia O'Keefe museum and many art galleries and great shopping..

We loved Brian and Leslie's sweet casita. It was even nicer than the photos. We holed up for a couple chilly December weeks, and really appreciated the pellet stove and overall cozy atmosphere. The donkeys did bray (sp?) in the morning, but wasn't a nuisance. Though the casita is adjacent to their home, we rarely saw B and L - though they were very available if we needed anything. We really enjoyed walking the Bosque trails near the house (even saw two great horned owls) and short day hikes in the Sandia mountains. It was a great late fall escape!
We had a great stay at the Casita while we were in town for the Balloon Fiesta! Brian and Leslie were very accommodating about our late arrival, and Brian gave us the complete tour when we finally made it. The Casita is quite spacious for a one bedroom and has been furnished in a nicely modern style. The kitchen was small but gorgeous, and a cheery message greeted us on the blackboard. Our hosts even left us a welcome gift of a bottle of wine, a jar of local salsa, and chips! There were plenty of blankets on the Sleep Number bed to keep us warm in the chilly desert nights. Corrales is a lovely little community, quiet but still close to everything, and in the mornings you can see balloons floating overhead if the wind is right. Thanks for helping to make our vacation great!
Amazing, amazing, amazing! The rental is exactly as advertised and more. My hubby and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Leslie and Brian's casita. The space was the perfect size for us and the decor made us feel like we were at home.
We were in Albuquerque on business and needed a place to stay for at least a month, which for us isn't terribly unusual in our line of work. We're always a little weary of renting a property site unseen, but when we arrived we knew we made the right decision. The neighborhood is very cozy and rural but you're so close to the city that you never have to drive more than 5-10 minutes to get what you need. Another great thing about the location is that it's super close to the Rio Grande where there's shaded walking/hiking trails which is pretty cool. The casita itself is absolutely darling and has all new everything (refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, washer/dryer, etc). We weren't wanting for anything. Leslie and Brian even had the kitchen stocked with basic amenities, a bottle of wine, chips and salsa!
We'll definitely be staying here again and we highly recommend you check it out too :)
We stayed an entire month at this wonderful casita. It was the perfect place in which to get a lay of the New Mexican land while we hunted for housing in our new home of New Mexico. The hosts were excellent, the amenities superb, and the location perfect. We would stay again and highly recommend!
Me and my friend stayed for 3 nights at Casita for the Balloon Festival and loved it! It's the perfect place to rest and relax and it's very close to the festival.
It has a well dotated kitchen and bathroom. The owner was very nice and welcoming.
We couldn't ask for a better place to stay!
we just loved the adobe casita. it was a fabulous home away from home. we were in town for the balloon fiesta and it's proximity to the fiesta park was great. it is located on a quiet side street and yet is close to plenty of restaurants and stores. the kitchen is very well equipped and it was a bonus to have a washer and dryer. both brian and leslie were very helpful and easy to deal with. we very much enjoyed the entire area and our vacation was just lovely.
We stayed at this beautiful casita during our mini vacation in Albuquerque. The space is quite lovely and Brian and Leslie were gracious hosts who really have thought of just about everything.
My husband and I were traveling with our infant son, so having a full kitchen and laundry was very beneficial. We were also able to pick up groceries at the market just down the road.
There was a farmer's market less than a block away on Sunday and we were able to ride our bikes directly from the house to the Paseo del Bosque Trail.
Don't let the Corrales address fool you--the location makes for easy access to Albuquerque, the Balloon Fiesta Park, Rio Rancho, the Tram, and hiking in the foothills.
We are already recommending this casita to our friends who travel to Albuquerque.
I enjoyed living in this casita for the summer. It was comfortable and clean, and close to many of the places that I was wanting or needing to go. Great hosts, too. I highly recommend staying here when traveling in New Mexico.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute in the casita. The facilities were absolutely perfect and the location worked out great for us. Who needs a roster when you have a donkey!! Brian's donkey called to him every morning wanting breakfast I guess, we waited to hear his call every morning.
Extremely nice casita on a lovely, artistic semi-rural property. Leslie has created a jewelbox of a place, with a gorgeous compact, but fully outfitted, kitchen. Comfortable bedroom (bed on the soft side) and exquisite bath, nice sitting room with lots of light. Nice touches like an Ipod dock. The donkeys on the property woke us up in the mornings, but they were so dang cute I didn't really mind. Everything about this place was beautiful, and excellent hosts available for burning questions about best margaritas nearby, etc.
