Welcome to Mi Casa en BA:
Mi Casa en BA is a renovated colonial style house in Balvanera, a traditional neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
For more than 4 years Mi Casa en BA has been hosting travelers, students and foreign tourists from all over the world, many of them have lived in the house for months, making their stay a unique experience.
About this room:
This is a two story room loft style with wooden mezzanine overlooking one of the main patios of the house. The room has two beds. A double bed on the mezzanine and a single bed with a desk on the ground floor. Sunny and fresh all year.

The breakfast area and the living room are perfectly connected to a large shared kitchen room where food lovers may use all the utensils to cook in a large gas kitchen.
This property has two large patios which serve as common areas for relax, recreation or simply rest in the sun.
Interaction with Guests
Sara and I live in the house. We are fully available all day and night. We like to share time with our guests and make their stay a great stay.
Among the architectural features in Balvanera are the neo-classical Congress building and the statue group in neighboring Plaza Congreso. The El Molino tea room is located across the street in a building that has seen several rounds of restoration since its heyday.
The café Los Angelitos in the corner of Rivadavia and Rincón was a meeting point for poets and musicians. It features a relief of angels in its façade, which is one of the landmarks of the barrio. After extensive restorations, it was reopened in 2007, now it offers live tango shows and it has become a tourist landmark much like the Café Tortoni and Confitería La Ideal.

Great stay at the house! Close walk to yellow subway line, not in traditional tourist areas.
keep in mind there is no A/C. there are a few other rooms in the house that Ignacio also rents out, so the overall feel was partway between hostel and bed/breakfast.
We stayed in the room with a private bath, double bed, and walk-in closet. The room itself is enormous and gorgeous - as is the bathroom. It felt like we had our own little apartment with a shared kitchen down the hall. The bedroom opens to a shared patio through french doors which was rarely used during our stay. The other guests in the 3 rooms along the hall were lovely as were Ignacio and Sara (spelling?), always attentive and ready with answers to whatever absurd question we were able to come up with next :) The spaces, shared included, were all well kempt. Laundry service (~5 blocks), grocery store (~5blocks), subway stop (~7 blocks), and gym (~10 blocks) are all walking distance. The only part we initially had trouble with at first - I don't think there is air conditioning so we kept the patio doors opened for air flow and the mosquito's love nibbling BUT once we got something to plug into the wall that repels mosquito's we slept like babies. A little off the tourist track and good for long term stays and authentic neighborhood experiences. RECOMMENDED!

We're a swedish-argentine couple enjoying life together in Buenos Aires, sharing a part of it with people from all around the world. Sara is a literature student born and raised in Northern Sweden and Ignacio is the head coach of a Crossfit box and born in the city of BA.
We both enjoy physical activities and running, going to the gym and tango dancing is all part of our everyday life. We also enjoy cooking and eating good food, preferably with friends and family. You can find us in the kitchen at any time and we're more than happy to try new things. Experiencing new things is also our main reason for travelling, both together and separately. We have covered big parts of Europe, Asia and South America, hoping to see a lot more soon.
If you have any question or you want to know more about us, please don't hesitate to send us a message.
